Olivia looked up as Sam was the only one back and she felt the shift in the air, as he got his clothes back before he walked over to her. "Who was it?" She asked, not bothering to hide the trembling or the pain in her voice. This was Sam, he wasn't going to laugh at her or call her weak.

"Not Jacob." Sam said as he carefully crouched down next to her and she was looking at him with pained eyes, as they were red from crying. "But, it wasn't Quil either." Olivia shuddered with clear relief and he moved his arms around her, as she buried her head into his shoulder.

"Who was it?" Olivia asked as Sam looked over at her. "Sam, who was it?" She asked as she saw the confusion, worry and genuine pain in his eyes. "Sam?" She asked and he blinked.

"Embry." Sam finally answered and at the words, Olivia's eyes widened immediately at the words, realizing why he looked so pained by it.

"Oh god." Olivia said softly, realizing what the problem was and he was nodding at the words. "So... Billy, Dad, or..."

"Or my father." Sam finished with a bitter tone in his voice and he had begun to quiver at the thought and Olivia stiffened, pulling back as he looked down at his hands which shook badly.

"Sam, stop." Olivia said, jumping up as he was turning to walk away from her. "Sam, don't." She said as he was stopping in place, continuing to tremble. "You are not him, I'm not even calling him a father. He isn't even worthy of the name." She said and she was shaking her head. "You want to know exactly just what I think that he is?" Olivia asked with a savage tone.

"What is he?" Sam asked with a low and angry tone in his voice and she looked at him, before she was walking up and she wrapped her arms around him from behind and he was starting to get his control back.

Olivia fearlessly stayed right next to him and frankly, the others could call her crazy if they wanted to. But she wasn't moving, she refused to let him lose his head because of that crap who abandoned him.

"He's a piece of crap. A gene donor, that is all that he is." Sam chuckled softly. "You got his name, his hair and the phasing genetics for it. That is all that you got from him." She said and he was shaking again, but this time it was from laughter.

"What the hell would I ever do without you?" Sam asked as he turned around to look down at her, as she looked up at him and she shook her head.

"Be a lot more of a jackass?" Olivia said truthfully and thankfully, Sam took it as a joke and she sighed. "Hey, are you okay now?" She asked and he nodded. "Good, I'm not so good with the motivational prep talk thing."

"I think that you meant "pep talk" not prep." Sam said teasingly and she glared up at him.

"Exactly." Olivia said with a rather exasperated tone of voice and Sam was grinning at her, as he leaned down and he rested his forehead against hers. "I really hate being so damn short." She muttered and then he was laughing a little bit.

Thinking quickly, she was ducking under one of his arms and she scrambled up onto his back. Sam laughed as he stood up straight and she was getting a piggyback ride from him and he turned his head to look up at her. "Are you proud of yourself right now?" He asked.

"Very." Olivia said as she planted a kiss on his forehead quickly and Sam laughed, and Olivia ducked as the two of them were making their way inside. "So, where are the others?" She asked and he was putting her down at the kitchen table and then, he took a seat as well next to her.

"Opal stayed with Embry. I mean, she is the one who knows how to talk down everybody here. Hell, she can talk down Paul for Pete's sake." Sam said and Olivia reached out and laced her fingers with his and he smiled. "I just sent Jared on patrol with Carmen and Paul, since I wanted to come back and tell you myself that it wasn't Quil or Jacob." He said and she nodded.

"Thank you." Olivia murmured quietly and he nodded. "You have no idea how worried I was." She said quietly and Sam looked at her.

"I wish that I could say that I knew how you felt. But I don't because I never, ever thought that Carmen would ever phase." Sam murmured softly and she sighed.

"Why was it only said to be males to begin with?" Olivia asked and Sam looked over at her. "Did they not have daughters too? Like, it doesn't make sense." She said and he was looking rather intrigued by the question.

"I will bring it up with the Elders. To be completely honest, Liv, I don't think that the question has ever really come up." Sam said with another, smaller shrug.

"Yeah well, it's coming up now." Olivia insisted fiercely and Sam laughed at her words and the fierce tone in her voice, as she looked at him. "Are you sure that you're okay Sam?" She asked and he tilted his head to the side.

"Yeah, I'm okay." Sam murmured as he looked closer at her, narrowing his eyes as he stared directly at her and Olivia looked at him with confusion, wondering what was going through his head at the moment.
