June, 1993
They spent almost a year in Kentucky, then Kevin decided he felt ready to leave his home state again and return to Florida.
Remember that audition Catherine made? Well, within days of returning to Florida, Catherine got a call announcing that she had been chosen for the part. Catherine was super happy, and Kevin was so happy for her. But it wasn't all wonderful; the show would be shot in NYC, which meant they would have to be apart for a while. Catherine was about to turn down the job just because of this, but Kevin convinced her to go. She had been dreaming about this for so long, she couldn't put it all aside for a minor setback. So Catherine temporarily moved to New York and Kevin stayed in Florida.
They talked every day on the phone and talked about everything from how their jobs were going to how much they missed each other. On one of those calls, Kevin told her something really great: A woman he knew was the wife of the limo driver of a businessman named Lou Pearlman. This man, it turns out, had been trying to form a boy band, but was short on members. So Kevin got an audition and... he was chosen. Catherine was so happy when he told her that she jumped up and down on the hotel room bed, causing Kevin to laugh. Besides, counting Kevin, there were only four members, so Kevin decided to call his cousin Brian to join. And so the band was formed: The Backstreet Boys.
After almost a month apart (much longer than they had ever been), the day when they would see each other again arrived. Catherine spent the entire morning overjoyed to see Kevin again. She caught an afternoon flight and arrived in Florida at about 7:00 pm. As she walked through the arrivals gate, she saw a man in a suit holding a sign with her name on it. Catherine approached him.

Barely ten minutes later, Catherine was in the back seat of the limousine. She was surprised to see that Kevin wasn't at the airport, but the driver (who turned out to be the same one who had told Pearlman about Kevin) explained that the boys spent their days rehearsing, and that was probably what they were doing at the time. At one point, they arrived at a mansion. It wasn't big, it was enormous. As much as Catherine was used to the towering buildings in NY, she couldn't help but be surprised at the huge dimensions of the house. The driver opened the limo door for her, she smiled at him in gratitude and stepped out of the vehicle.
Just then, the door opened and there he was: the tall, black-haired, thick-browed, green-eyed, incredibly handsome guy Catherine had been dreaming about since she left for New York. Then, like in a romance movie, they both ran towards each other, and when they reached each other, Kevin wrapped his arms around her waist and twirled her around in the air. Catherine laughed as she clung tightly to his neck, slightly damp with sweat. When he finally set her down, he brushed two strands away from her face before joining her lips with his. When the lack of air forced them apart, Kevin hugged Catherine tightly.
"I've missed you so much." he whispered before pressing a kiss to the top of her head "I can't believe you're already here."
She caressed his face, and placed her forehead against his "But I am."
They both walked into the house holding hands "I'm going to introduce you to the rest of the guys" Kevin said as he led her into the back yard of the house.
The size of the backyard was proportional to the rest of the house: unbelievably large. Catherine thought it would be possible to play a game of football there. In one corner was a table with a few chairs. There were four boys sitting there, of whom Catherine recognized only one; Brian, Kevin's cousin. Besides Brian, there was a brown-eyed, brown-skinned boy with curly hair, another boy with similar features but slightly younger, and finally a blond-haired, blue-eyed boy. The last two seemed to be arguing, while Brian and the other boy tried to calm them down.
The four boys stopped what they were doing when they saw Kevin and Catherine approach them and got up from their chairs.
"Okay, guys; this is Catherine. Cath, this is Howie, AJ and Nick. Brian you already know." said Kevin smiling as he introduced all of them.
Brian smiled back and Howie said a soft " Hello." AJ let out a whistle and walked over to Catherine, looking her over carefully.
"So this is your girl." he said then let out another whistle "Kev was right; you're a cutie."
Catherine couldn't help but let out a giggle at the confidence with which AJ spoke.
"Hey, watch your mouth, kiddo" Kevin said in a joking tone putting his arm around Catherine's waist "She's already taken."
"Well you should thank God, man" Nick spoke this time, stepping forward "Because you're rather average, and she's hot as..."
He was unable to finish the sentence as suddenly Kevin jumped up and started to chase him all over the yard, causing the rest of the boys and Catherine to laugh.
Catherine thought it was amazing how quickly she grew fond of the other guys. She liked Brian's personality , she thought Howie's peace of mind was very nice and she was very amused by the liveliness of both AJ and Nick.
"The guys are super nice!" Cath told Kevin later that night. After having dinner all together, and chatting for a while after, they all went to their rooms to sleep. Of course, Catherine and Kevin were sharing his room.
"Yeah, they really are." Kevin smiled while he took off his t-shirt, getting ready to go to bed.
Catherine approached him and wrapped her arms around his waist "But above all, I'm so glad to see you so happy"
Kevin smiled and pulled her closer for a kiss. It started as a tender, soft kiss. But it fastly turned into a passionate, steamy one. Catherine moaned as she felt Kevin's tongue slip into her mouth, intermingling with hers. Kevin pulled his mouth away from hers and began leaving wet kisses on her neck.
"Well, I see you've missed me so much," Catherine whispered between gasps.
Kevin smiled "Of course I have." Then he looked into Catherine's eyes, which were bright and pupil-dilatated. " And I think you've missed me too. Or am I wrong?" Kevin brushed his mouth against hers and slid a hand inside her shorts, caressing her womanhood.
"No, you're not wrong," Catherine said in the middle of a moan.
They kissed again intensely, and ended up lying on the bed; Catherine against the mattress and Kevin on top of her.
"Do you think they'll hear anything?" Catherine asked.
"Not unless you're very... loud," he whispered with a slightly hoarse voice, causing Catherine to get chills.
"Well, that will depend on you... and on what you intend to do to me," she whispered before joining their mouths again. That was going to be a very long night.
