"You're going to marry her???" AJ almost shouted.

"I didn't say that." Kevin replied in a relaxed tone of voice.

"That's exactly what you said." rebutted Nick.

The five of them were eating together at a restaurant in Manhattan. They had started out talking about basketball and somehow ended up talking about girlfriends.

"I just said that MAYBE it will happen, just that..." Kevin took a sip from his wine glass "I mean, we've been together for close to four years now. Besides, I'll be thirty next year, I have to start thinking about settling down."

His bandmates said nothing. They would never confess it, because they didn't want to hurt Kevin's feelings, but the truth was that they didn't like Sophie very much. They understood why Kevin had noticed her; the girl was a cutie. Besides, Kevin had suffered a lot with a breakup he'd had before, so they were very happy when he found love again. But the truth was that Sophie wasn't as pretty on the inside as she was on the outside. She wasn't very smart, she was somewhat overbearing, and she could be mean. That's why Nick and AJ had had that reaction when they heard that Kevin had thought about proposing to her. As much as Kevin loved her, they were convinced that their brother deserved better.

"Speaking of weddings," Howie said to break the silence, "How's it going, Brian?"

Brian had proposed to his girlfriend a few months ago, and they were going crazy trying to get everything organized. Leighanne didn't have the same problem as Sophie. They were all very fond of her.

"Well,...There are so many things to do and so little time..." Brian and Leighanne were trying to get everything organized before the boys went on tour, so they could get married as soon as possible after the tour was over.

"I don't understand the obsession with getting married and all that stuff... it's so much better to live life with no commitments, no strings attached..." said AJ as Nick nodded.

Kevin smiled "Well, it's just that you guys are kind of young now. But it won't seem like such a bad idea when you mature a bit. Or when you meet the right person."

"Maybe, who knows." replied AJ, shrugging his shoulders.

It was almost four o'clock in the afternoon when Catherine parked on the school street. She got out of the car and headed towards the school grounds. Once inside, she stood near the preschool building and waited. Suddenly, the children began to come out. Catherine continued to wait until she saw a little red-haired girl running towards her with a sheet of paper in her hand.

"Mommy! Look what I made!" shouted Lizzie handing the sheet of paper to Catherine. It was a drawing of the two of them.

"Honey, I love it! I'm going to hang it on the fridge, along with the others." She held out her hand to her daughter, who took it and they both walked to the car.

"Can we go to the park today?"

"Sure, but first I need to go to the mall to buy a few things, okay?" Lizzie simply nodded.

I'm sorry if this chapter is a bit short, but I promise to try to make the next ones longer. I know I'm a bit tiring, but it would really help me a lot if you leave me your opinion in the comments. Finally, from this chapter on you will see that some dates like birthdays, events... are not the same as in real life. But I just want you to know that this is intentional, not a mistake! Bye!
