Chapter 13

After several hours of work, the director announced that they would break for lunch. Catherine and Leighanne had shot a couple of scenes together, and not only had they discovered that they had good chemistry, but they also liked each other quite a bit. So, at lunchtime, Leighanne sat down with Catherine. Greta and Valeria were also there, and they also liked Leighanne.

"Well, tell me about yourself." said Leighanne to Catherine when they had just sat down at the table. Valeria and Greta were already seated. "You're not from LA , right????"

"No, I'm from New York. But I've been living here for a few years now. Ever since the acting thing started getting more serious." replied Catherine as she took some lettuce and put it into her mouth.

"And you live alone? Or with someone else...?" asked Leighanne in a playful tone.

Catherine laughed "Yes, but not that kind of "someone". I live with my daughter Lizzie."

Leighanne blinked a couple of times "Daughter? You have a daughter?"

"Yes...you see, it's just that I had her when I was almost twenty-five. I was a very young mother, that's it."

"Oh...I see.... And the father?"

Catherine perfectly felt Greta look up, perhaps wondering what her sister was going to answer. She just took a sip of water and replied "He doesn't know about Lizzie's existence."

It was already 2:45 p.m. and that day's shooting was almost over. As they prepared to shoot the last scene of the day, Catherine and Leighanne were sitting in their respective chairs next to each other.

"Hey, Catherine" Leighanne said abruptly, causing the redhead to look at her "Do you have anything to do on Saturday next week?"

"Well... no, not really." replied Catherine.

"You see, I'm celebrating my birthday that day... and I'd like you to come. I know it might sound weird, because we just met today, but I really liked you."

Catherine smiled softly "No, don't worry. I'd love to go."

"Great! It'll be around eight. I'll let you know the address. Tell Greta and Valeria to come too."

"Okay. Thanks, Leighanne."
