After several hours, I awoke with excruciating pain in my head. I attempted to clean my vision with my filthy, rusted hands. This place was hideous, white, and dark. I had no idea where I was. I attempted to find my phone, but it wasn't in my pockets. Who the hell brought me here? I tried to get up, but I was restrained by chains.
These heavy black chains on the walls reminded me of my younger years. I immediately had a panic attack since an old middle school teacher had raped me. In my thoughts, the flashbacks came back to me. This time, I was terrified. I desperately wanted to get out of there, and I'm scared about Mom. I've been here for how long? Until the lights were switched on, the room was totally pitch black, then brightened again. I looked around and realized I wasn't the only one.
Melanie was there, looking like a hot mess. I only saw her a few hours ago, before I arrived here. "Melanie?" I demanded her name since her hair was a tangled mess and her clothing seemed to be worn and tattered. She glanced at me with a terrified expression at this point. Melanie was not the Melanie I remembered. She was also bound and gagged. She was positioned just across from me.
"Who exactly are you?" She stated.
"Melanie, please stop acting like you don't know who I am," I urged solemnly. She shook her head, as if she had no idea who I was. "I am your ex-boyfriend."
"You were never my ex-boyfriend, nor did I ever date you. I've never met you before. I'm not lying to you this time," she replied, making me feel weird. Her eyes were bloodshot and puffy. I checked her stomach and she didn't appear to be pregnant. "I'd been stuck here for five years and I wanted to get out."
"I thought you were pregnant with my baby that you're carrying," I clarified. There was no form of the baby she was supposed to carry me as I glanced at her stomach. I knew my ex-girlfriend didn't want to abort the baby, and it was already more than seventeen weeks.
"You're Daxton Nathanson?" She summoned me as she regarded me in the eyes, puzzled. In disbelief, I nodded my head. "This is the real Melanie. I'm not kidding. For years and years, this lunatic proclaimed to be me. I've been pregnant by my ex-rapists previously, but I miscarried since I was too young and under a lot of stress."
"Yes, can you please tell me who Kylie is?" I inquired of her. I couldn't believe this was the real Melanie, yet her personality was nothing like I remembered. "You were pregnant...Wow, this is shocking."
"She's my evil twin sister! Yes, I'm referring to Kylie Quinones. She hijacked my entire existence and has always been jealous! She's a murderer!" She yelled for further details. I dated and fucked Kylie Quinones the whole time?!! The Twin Diabla! Kylie stole Melanie's real identity for the past four years? How could she do that?
Suddenly, my eye was drawn to her, and she resembled so much like Kylie. There was no difference, so how could I miss this? I felt bad throughout the whole thing. Kylie brainwashed me for almost a year. Summer was approaching, and I had never been more terrified in my life. The triggers irritated me so severely that Kylie suspected it was all staged.
"As known as Twin Diabla?" I asked her a question. "She said her best friend died and wrote the whole diary." We both heard a girl screaming and the door opened as a girl entered the room, but she was imprisoned in a chair with duct tape all over her mouth and hands.
"Josefina?!" I called her name. She discovered that she had never returned home because Kylie 'Twin Diabla' Quinones had abducted her. Josie had been sobbing uncontrollably. She looked me in the eyes and sobbed again. Because her voice wasn't completely clear, I heard her whisper to call me.
"The Kylie Diary is one I wrote years ago, and it was not about my best friend; she simply lies about everything. I've been imprisoned with her since I was thirteen, and everyone thinks of me as Kylie having committed suicide," she admitted. I uncovered the entire truth. "I saw and witnessed her ripping out a lot of papers about her murders and plans. I was about to call the cops, but her plan got in the way. She's a monster!"
"How come she pretends to be you after all these years and no one notices?" She crossed her legs and shook her head. I'm at a loss for words. I nearly went insane. I couldn't believe I'd dated a bad twin and had no idea the Quinones had twin girls. "Does Jake, your older brother, know?"
"You know Jake?!" she exclaimed. "How was he doing? I heard that my family drugged him and that he had no knowledge he had twin sisters and was just known as Melanie. I felt so bad for him." Oh my gosh, Jake had been drugged? Jake was in an unsafe circumstance in his life. He didn't deserve it all. They drove him insane.
"That is pretty fucked up," I added.I didn't realize why I was here until now. Kylie hated her twin sister Melanie as the actual Melanie. This thing was too frightening and too genuine for me. This was not a nightmare. This was reality. I was losing thoughts since Melanie and Kylie were identical twins. Melanie appeared to be quite apprehensive, suffering from PTSD, anxiety, and other difficulties. She had been hiding here and in other places for many years. She was never caught or saved. Was she ever investigated by the police?
I was disgusted and felt terrible about myself once the real Melanie broke the silence. My entire heart sank and I was in full disbelief. Kylie claimed to be Melanie, and the fact that I fell for her made me sick. She was a psychopath and a serial killer. I was the first to uncover the diary and the truth about Melanie's impersonation. We'd all heard the scary black door that was going to be unlocked. Melanie and Josie were terrified. Despite the fact that the actual Melanie had been kidnapped for a long time and did not feel safe.
Kylie had already entered the room and was evilly giggling. She didn't have any weapons with her, but she did offer us food and drink to eat. "You're fake Melanie I recall, Twin Diabla. You are the murderer!" I began shouting at her as she continued to laugh at me.
"Daxton, my love of my life, it's so nice to see you," Kylie murmured, her tone changing to flirting with me. She seemed vicious and wicked at this point, unlike the Melanie I used to know before finding out her real name. My brow puckered in response to her. My rage and terror rose inside of me.
"It's not so nice to see you, motherfucker!" I yelled at her. She smacked me across the face to get me to stop talking. Then she burst out laughing like some sort of lunatic. "Why are you doing this?" I was exhaling heavily and couldn't stop myself.
"Kylie, just shut the fuck up and tell your baby daddy what you've been up to," Melanie said. Kylie gripped her hands, but she didn't want to hit her in the face while I was around. Kylie noticed I was watching her since she wasn't used to it. "You kill so many people!"
"Killed so many people?" I stated this after repeating what real Melanie said. "What in the fuck did you do?" I started yelling at Kylie. She seemed to be aggravated. She spun around and reached for her weapon, only to discover that she didn't have it. She took a big breath and gave me another nasty grin.
"Baby boy," she muttered as she sat on the chair since she was tired of walking. She was about five months pregnant. While I was on the ground with these awful black hard chains around my wrist, she sat down. Josefina continued to scream because the duct tape was wrapped around her mouth. Josie was crying once again when Kylie urged her to stop. Josie stopped sobbing and attempted to keep her emotions in check.
"Well, I did something bad, but no one knows what I have done in the past," Kylie said as she stared at me. I remained silent for a few moments until I needed to hear what Kylie had to say.
"I killed Amy," Kylie said at first, breaking into silence. My hands and legs started quivering. I was sick to my stomach and wanted to escape. What if she intended to murder me and grow our daughter to think of her as a mother by being a criminal? Or perhaps a serial killer?
