"What the fuck?!" Melanie was shouting outside the house as she raced to my house when Jake and I were fighting. She ran as rapidly as she could. She continued yelling at Jake because he and I were fighting. My nose was bleeding as Jake looked at me like I was a total moron. He was exhaling heavily, like if he were a track star.

Melanie suddenly thrusts her arms between me and Jake, pushing us away. Mom grabbed my body and squeezed me as tightly as she could as Melanie held Jake to calm him down. Jake tried to fight for his life in order to let his sister leave him alone to continue the fight. "Jacob Quinones, please, just stop fighting with my boyfriend!" She yelled.

"Mel, you shouldn't be with Daxton because we made a promise," he explained. "Your little boyfriend really should've told you."

"I already knew, he told me a long time ago," she explained, "but we didn't know we'd fallen for each other. I loved him, and I had no idea this pregnancy would happen. We were not planning for this situation to arise, but we will accept full responsibility." Jake came to a complete halt and turned his head and looked at her. He noticed the tears on her cheeks. My mother was still holding me even though I had already calmed down.

"You genuinely demonstrated that you loved him," he remarked. "So, my girlfriend arranged for you and Landon to connect the chemistry together..."

"It was just nothing, but he keeps flirting with me," she said. "He was only attracted to me sexually because of my appearance and body. Daxton reveals his actual self and the qualities I consist of in him. Please give Daxton and me a chance. We demand your cooperation."

Jake was standing there sighing deeply. He needed to have greater faith in his sister. He needed to forgive me and her for this nonsense. He nearly killed me after he just exited the Center. Jake remained silent for a moment before nodding his head.

"I have to make you and my homie happy in order for you to earn my respect. I am so sorry for being such a lousy brother," he said, feeling dreadful. He should have been more in control of his feelings and state of mind. She ended up hugging him and telling him that it wasn't his fault and that he shouldn't feel guilty. He wasn't a bad brother. He was attempting to protect her.

"Thank you, Jake," I responded, turning my head. His face lit up with a smile, and he rushed over to hug me. He started weeping in my arms. Mom smiled, relieved that everything had worked out. Jake ultimately granted us approval for me and his sister to date, so our relationship was no longer a well guarded secret.

Meanwhile, I was on the computer, going to check my college status after receiving an email indicating that there had been an update to my application. I was hoping to get into Harvard. This was all a dream. I opened the status and looked at it for a few seconds. My beaming grin had disappeared.

"Waitlisted?" I told myself this. "This couldn't possibly be happening!" I had no idea why I had been waitlisted. My grades have been outstanding! What happened to my football career?! The result was implausible. It states at the bottom that I had to create a more intriguing essay about my life and my challenges. It was insufficient to get admission to Harvard. They will take into consideration my updated essay. I abruptly shut down my laptop and tossed it on the bed. I went to bed and slept the entire day away. This was one of the worst days of my life.
