"Yeah, of course, Pete," she replied.

Peter smiled back big at Grace. He fidgeted with his hands anxiously, as if he was afraid to even talk to her.

Grace understood that; if he was. She had known him for so long, yet she found herself nervous to ask him something.

"Would you want to get something to eat after school?"

Grace smiled, but also acted startled, being extremely surprised at the request. That would be practically a date with Peter, her longtime crush.

Peter saw her surprise, but took it the wrong way. "I mean... uh, as friends, you know..." he stuttered.

Grace laughed. "I'd love to, Peter."

He relaxed, also surprised at her response. He took a deep breathe, finally able to stop stressing out.

"That's great! Uh, I can pick you up, I mean May and I can pick you up, at like six?"

Grace wondered if his awkwardness and stuttering was a sign that he liked her. He had no other reason to be this nervous around her. They were friends.

But Peter was an awkward person, so it might not mean anything at all.

They walked to their next class together, talking about their day and clearly blushing at each other every so often.

It was almost six. Grace had changed into a cute outfit. She wanted to look really nice for her first date, if it counted as that. She wasn't sure what Peter considered it. But for her, she wanted it to be just that.

Grace was starting to think she really did have a shot at Peter liking her back. She could tell he really enjoyed being around her. Why else would he ask her to dinner?

There was a small beep outside, and Grace excitedly rushed out to May's car. Before she could get in, Peter stood there, purple flowers in hand.

"These are for you," he said with a small smile.

Grace took them, and gave Peter a quick hug. "You didn't have to."

"I wanted to, Gracie."

He helped her into the car. He sat in the backseat with her so she had some company. His Aunt May was in the driver's seat and before she started driving she looked back at Grace.

"It's good to see you again, Grace!"

Grace smiled. "Thanks for taking us, May."

Peter looked really nice. He was a bit more dressed up then he usually was, and his fluffy hair was done neatly. Grace couldn't help but smile at how adorable he was.

They talked the whole car ride there, finally arriving at their destination. Both of the teens waved bye to May, and walked into the casual restaurant.

They went up to the front desk so Peter could claim his reservation. "For Parker," he said.

"Right this way."

Grace and Peter sat down at a two-person table. As they talked, Grace's heart rate only increased more and more.

"I really like being around you, Peter," Grace suddenly said.

Peter smiled, and then looked at her flushed cheeks. His lips curved into a small smirk.

"Gracie, are you blushing?"

Grace almost choked on her food.

Grace was always blushing at Peter, but she had never really been called out for it. But here was Peter smirking and asking her if she was.

"I-uh...."

Peter laughed a bit.

"You look really nice." she complimented.

"You look beautiful." He smiled and reached for her hand across the table. "And I really like being around you too."

The rest of the night was such a blur. It was amazing. Grace had to remind herself multiple times that she wasn't dreaming.

And when she got home, all she could think about was Peter Parker.
