Arriving at the nicest dress store in town, just us three, walk in to find me the perfect dress. I was getting even more excited by every step closer to the door. We enter the store to glance around at all of the dresses hanging up, nice and neat.

"Here we go Elizabeth, so many dresses to choose from. Pick out three options and we can all help you choose the perfect one." Mom suggested and started looking distinctly.

"Thank you so much for all of this mom." I said hugging her from behind.

"You have the right to look fancy and elegant. It's your last hurrah before you are an adult." Mom says scared at the fact that she has missed all of these days of me as a child.

"Yes, Elle. Mom is right." Skye interrupted, smiling bigger than normal.

"Okay?" I questioned Skye's tactics. I searched through all sorts of dresses, short ones, long ones, colorful ones, black ones, and any others you can think of.

But I narrowed my three options down to a tight and skinny light blue long sleeved dress, a black strapless with a white rim and a slit in the bottom, and my favorite one, a silky gold pencil dress.

"So, Elle, are these your three options?" The girl from the store, who also happened to be my best friend, Angel, asked me politely.

"Yes, they are. Thank you, Angel. For all of your help. Are you going to come over later and help me plan the party and get reservations, and rentals later tonight?" I asked her knowing she wouldn't be able to say no.

Planning parties are her specialty, so if you get Angel to help plan an event, it will most definitely be the best.

"Why of course I will. I am going to put these in the back and I am going to be done here in a few hours and I will be over right after work. And by the way, if you are lucky, I can most likely get you the employee discount on the dress." She confirmed.

"Great. Can't wait. Love you Angel." I hugged her tightly.

"Uh, hey mom. I am going to stay behind and shop for a dress for me. You know, for the party. Don't wait up. I'll see you later." Skye said, basically dragging me and mom out of the store.

Angel came over to the house later that day, we got out a notebook and used my white board to write down what we had planned. What Angel had planned sounded amazing. She wanted to rent out a DJ, a section of the beach, a few hotel rooms on the beach, and much more. She said that we should have the party on Sunday after my piano class. I stopped her,

"wait, no. Jay won't be home yet. And I want him to be here." I mentioned.

"I will take care of that sweetie." Angel said, already seeming 10 steps ahead of me. I nodded and trusted that she had everything under control.

It was late when we had everything on the board and in the notebook. We both took a picture of the plans on both objects just in case. After, Angel and I said goodbye until tomorrow.

The next morning, I wake up ready to get started on more planning and inviting. I told my mom that I was going to drive to the dress shop and get the dress I wanted, she had no hesitation in disagreeing. I took my car keys and drove down into town.

I woke in twirling my keys and saw Angel with a saddened face. My smile turned into a frown,

"what happened?" I looked concerned.

"Elle, your dresses. They were ruined." She said softly. My eyes drifted up to the back room and I went back to see that only my dresses were destroyed. I felt a tear run down my cheek. I felt like Cinderella, when her step sisters ruined her dress.

I walked out of the back room and passed Angel,

"I have to make a phone call." I swallowed my tears. I went out of the store and dialed Jay's phone number. He answered after a few rings,

"hey babe." I heard him laughing with little laughter in the background.

"I'm sorry is this a bad time?" I asked as I heard the crying continue.

"No, you're fine I'm just messing around with my little nephew." He laughed and I smiled and laughed with him.

"What's wrong?" He asked after hearing me sniffle.

"Uh, nothing. I'll call you later, you sound busy." I said, wiping away a tear.

"Thomas, stop for a second buddy. Elizabeth? I know when something is wrong with you, talk to me." He said, concerned for me.

"Well, I had gone shopping yesterday for a dress for this birthday party I am planning, and I came back just now to choose one I wanted and come to find out they are all ruined and now I don't know what to do, please stop me from rambling on." I said too fast for him to understand.

"Elle? Breathe. Deep breaths. It's okay, Angel called me telling me about your party and I was sad that I couldn't be there so I sent you a dress. It should be at your house now. It's a silk silver skinny dress with a slit in the skirt part up to your knee. I also got you some heels. Relax. I've got you taken care of." Jay settled me down a bit, I sighed in relief.

"Thank you, Jay. You didn't have to do that." I said appreciative.

"Of course, I did, I love you." He said, making me blush and smile.

"I love you to babe. I'll let you get back to hanging with your family. I'll see you soon." I said with passion.

"Okay, babe. I'll talk to you later." Jay said and hung up.

I felt a little better, so I went inside and hugged Angel.

"What was that?" Angel asked, surprised.

"For always taking care of me even when I don't ask you too." I said, still hugging her.

"Well, you are my best friend. And I would do anything for you." Angel hugged me just as tight.

Okay, let me say this, I got so lucky in the best friend department.
