- CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE - ⚡Sundowning⚡
Iris sat in front of Valen, trying to get her to say her first word. Valen just watched her mom before looking away and moving over to one of her toys, making Iris softly. "You're not gonna say any of the words I want you to say, will you?" Iris asked and all Valen did was shake her toy and laugh.
Iris chuckled and shook her head slightly before moving to sit with her back against the couch. She watched as Valen played with a toy before Valen went to stand up. Valen had gotten quite the hang of walking since her first steps months ago. Iris smiled as Valen walked over to her before Iris grabbed her and sat her daughter on her lap.
"Hi, baby." Iris said before kissing Valen's cheek. All of a sudden the door opened, making Iris look over to see Jordan walk in carrying take out. "I got it." He said, making Iris smile before standing up, holding Valen on her hip. "Did she say anything yet?" He asked and Iris shook her head, "Not yet, she's stubborn." She said and Jordan raised his eyebrows and nodded.
"Well, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree." He said, moving to set the food on the coffee table while Iris looked at him offended. "Hey!" She said, making Jordan chuckle and Iris rolled her eyes as she walked over and sat down on the couch.
"There is one thing I found out though." Iris said as Jordan sat down next to her. She gently pulled Valen's chin down to show off Valen's growing teeth. "She's got baby fangs coming in." Iris said, making Jordan raise his eyebrows, "So does that mean she's a vampire, not a witch?" He asked and Iris shrugged slightly.
"She's most likely both. She has an energy that me, my mom and my grandmother all have." Iris said and Jordan looked at her confused as he got the food ready. "But Valen doesn't have the same color eyes as your father." He said and she nodded, "She won't get that and all the other Vampire stuff until around thirteen, maybe sooner, maybe later. It's kinda like puberty in a way." She said.
