- CHAPTER SIXTY - 🏹 Saying Goodbye 🏹
Everyone stood around the living room as Scott draped a little "in memory" sash over a funeral flower arrangement. He glanced over to where Eli stood off to the side before looking at the others.
"The first night I met Derek Hale, he saved my life." He said, making Iris smile softly from where she stood next to Jordan. Valen stood next to her, her arms wrapped around her mom's arm as she laid her head on Iris' shoulder. Gia was leaning against Jordan, looking down at the ground with a sad look on her face.
"Then he said we were brothers, and I thought that he was crazy. But no. No, he was right." He said, looking at Eli, "Eli, from that moment on, we were brothers." He said and Eli nodded slightly.
"And, uh... Derek Hale was the first person to teach me that you don't just get the family you were born with. You get the family that you find." Scott said as Eli pulled away from the wall and walked down the hall a bit. Iris looked over at Eli before whispering something to her family then walking away, Jordan wrapping his arm around Valen's shoulders while Valen looked at Iris confused.
Iris walked over to Eli, making him turn to her as she smiled sadly at him. "Your father would absolutely kill me for this but I'll just say this is me finally giving him pay back for the scars he gave me when we were around your age." Iris said, making Eli chuckle lightly.
"Here." Iris said, holding the keys to the jeep out to him, making Eli smile. "He hated that jeep." Eli said and Iris chuckled and nodded, "Yeah, a lot of people loved and hated the jeep." She said.
"Be glad that your dad somehow managed to fix it. You'll never have to know how many times that jeep broke down at the worst possible moments." Iris said, making Eli chuckle softly, "But still, no matter what happened to that damn jeep, it just kept on running... Kinda like your dad. Seriously, your dad was a shit fighter but no matter what he would always get back up." Iris said, smiling softly at Eli.
"And as the person who knew your father better and longer than anyone, there is no doubt when I say this... Your father was and would be so proud of you, Eli." Iris said, making Eli smile as a tear ran down his face, making her gently grab his face and wipe it away.
"Now, I am offering up the guest bedroom of my house to become your room." Iris said, making Eli's eyes widen slightly, making her quickly hold her finger up, "But you and Valen will not be sleeping in a room together and when you are in the same room, the door must be wide open. Gia will be keeping an eye on you two whenever Jordan and I are at work." Iris said and Eli quickly nodded.
"Thank you, Iris." He said and she nodded before pulling him into a hug. "I also talked to Stilinski and Jordan... Everyone in the station has been told to not pull over a blue jeep today if you want to take a drive." Iris said, making Eli pull back, looking at her wide eyed in excitement.
He went to say something but she sighed and nodded. "Yes, Valen can go with you." She said and he smiled. "Thank you." He said and she winked at him and nodded before he quickly walked over to his girlfriend.
Iris sighed softly as Jordan walked over to her and she smiled sadly at him. "We're gonna have to keep a closer eye on them now." Iris said and Jordan chuckled as he wrapped an arm around her. "We probably should've started doing that sooner." He said as they watched Valen grab Eli's hand before they walked out.
"But if Valen had to date anyone, I'm glad it's Eli." Iris said and Jordan nodded in agreement, "Me too... Now about that talk you said we'd have." He started to say. Iris smiled and rolled her eyes as she playfully hit his chest before walking back to everyone.
Eli smiled sadly as he wiped a tear away while he drove. He glanced over at Valen who was looking out the window before looking at him. She smiled softly, grabbing his hand and intertwining their fingers, making him smile at her before looking back at the road.
