Anamaria
Tonight is the night of the ball. I took Anabeth to the hairdresser. We dressed in peasant and I took off my head jewelry so no one know who we were. Head jewelry was very important to me because my mother gave it to me. Anabeth doesn't want any, so all of her head pieces collection were inherit by me. After my mother's death, I started to wear her jewelry and diamond head pieces everyday. That's how people know that I am Anamaria, the daughter and the heiress of Sir Johnathan and Lady Elizabeth.
The hairdresser was a bit harsh on my sister because she kept moving. After the hairdressing, we went to a spa.
The market was crowded and half of the population were talking about the Royal ball. The peasants weren't invited. I wish they were. The baroness and baron were invited. This is unfair.
I used to be friend with a daughter of baroness. Never have I know how selfish and low class they were.We got back home and it's getting dark. I put on my baby pink gown with ruffle and sparkle bow on the waist. It fit perfect. Anabeth picked out a black sparkle gown and pink bow, just like mine. But they were in different color.
I twist my wavy blonde hair in a bun. My sister put her straight hair down because she doesn't like the feeling of tightness. I put on a little bit of make up and a baby pink lip color. Why bother wearing so much makeup? I'm not there to impress anyone.
"Are you ready?" I asked Anabeth as I approached her. Instead of hearing her excitement, she shoved me away from her. What is going on?
"Anabeth!" I said, half yelling. She gave me a death glare. She haven't talk to me since morning. When I asked her questions at the hairdresser, she just nodded as her answer. Why is she down? Did I do something wrong?
"I don't approve you and Garrett," she finally said. I looked at her perplex. Was she stalking on me last night?
I knew, a person like Anabeth couldn't be trust."Anabeth, tell me. Since when did you followed me?" I asked firmly looking for a clear explanation.
Anabeth gave me a death glare, "I was there enough to know everything." I cross my fingers. Anamaria, don't. Control your temper. She's your sister.
"Anabeth. Remember what our parents has taught us about privacy?" I said harshly. You can say that I am mad at her because I am. First she told me to go and then she followed me. She lied to me! What kind of sister is she?
I don't care if Anabeth doesn't approve Garrett. To me, wealth and class doesn't matter. My family can't force me who to like. "You lied to me!" I yelled at her, the servants stopped doing their chores and look at us.
She smirks at me, "I'm sure your Garrett lied to you more....really farmer's son? Let's know the truth at the ball, sis. You're disappointing mother and father." Her last sentence hits me hard. What?
Aunt approached us as Anabeth exist. "What is up with her?" Aunt asked. Great. Now I have to deal with aunt.
"Aunt," I said softly. Aunt turn to me with her eyebrows raised. "Nevermind," I said. She shrugged and walked away. I can't tell her about Garrett, not yet.
"You're disappointing mother and father."
Anabeth's word stuck in my head what does she mean? Shouldn't she be happy that I liked someone, because I haven't for so long?
"Anamaria!" Aunt yelled from outside. I grabbed my clutch and went into the carriage as we headed off to the ball. Anabeth was sitting the opposite side from me. Aunt and I shared a seat. She looked over at aunt, who look out the carriage window and she gave me a glare of disappointment.
Class doesn't matter. My sister need to understand. Mama never said anything about avoid dating a peasant or farmer's son. All she ever told me about boy was, to choose the right one. Each person must have the same feeling other person have for each other.
We arrived at the Chadwick palace. The knights bow to us as we approached the palace stair to enter the ball. We were greeted by the duke of Chadwick, who lead us to the party. There were many magician. One fat magician was chasing the bunny. The king, was sitting on the throne chair disappointed at the fat magician.
Next to the king was the queen. She look so worn out. Chadwick's ballroom was a little bit smaller than Drysdale but more luxuries. I spotted Prince Harper talking to Princess Pamina of Chadwick. She was laughing at his joke, which I didn't find funny at all. I turn around to see my aunt conversing with the duke leaving Anabeth and I alone. Anabeth look at me and our eyes met. I can see she is hurt. I should be the one who is hurt, not her.
"Anamaria," a fimilar voice called. I turned to see Prince Harper smiling at me with Princess Pamina.
The princess face light up as he said my name. "Anamaria? Are you Sir Johnathan and Lady Elizabeth's heiress?" She asked and I nodded. "It's pleasure to meet you!" I seen her many time before, but never really talk.
She turn to Anabeth who gave her a weak smile. "Anabeth? Wow I didn't realized that the Kingsley's children are this beautiful!" Her smile was charming and alluring. I wish I look like that when I smile. I don't smile a lot since the last few years. It was hard for me to be happy knowing that I have no mother or father.
"Hey prince! Think fast!" The son of the duke of Chadwick said handing a sword to Prince Harper. Prince Harper gave it back to him, "later." Princess Pamina blush as the guy walked closer to us. "Hey Anabeth, long time no see." He gave Anabeth a light smile. Anabeth said stared at his eyes with no face expression. "Hi," she said back soft and quiet with a low smile. They know each other? I glance at Priness Pamina who has jealously on her face. The guy finally noticed me, "you must be Anamaria." He said, offering me his hand. "I'm Kyle." Kyle. I heard that name before. "Anamaria." I said taking his hand. Princess Pamina interrupted us by saying we should go dancing. Kyle gave me a quick grin.
I heard his name before. Kyle. Berim has talked about him several time. Kyle is his fencing buddy. That's why he and Anabeth know each other because Berim liked to take Anabeth to go fencing with him. I glance at his handsome light brown hair and green eyes before an voice interrupted my thought.
"Would you like to dance?" Prince Harper asked. I didn't want to be rude so I took his hand. Princess Erin smile when she saw me with her brother. She tapped Princess Eleanor who was busy talking to her dance partner and Princess Eleanor flashed me a smile.
They both walked up to us."Are you having fun?" Princess Eleanor asked me and I nodded. Liar.
I glance behind her and caught someone I never expected to be here. Drinking wine with the Prince of Lancaster...Garrett.
