Chapter Twenty Seven - Bonus

Nikolas' POV

I open the door to his highness chamber, he was sleeping peacefully. His hand is shaking, the guards in his room rush to him.

"Your highness!" We shook his arm and let it stay still.

"He's awake!" Gavin yelled.

My heart beat with excitement, the military isn't the same without his highness. The king is over aggressive.

"We need to tell Lady Anamaria!" Gavin said to me.

As soon as Gavin said Anamaria, the prince's hand move around the mattress. Beth was right about bringing the lady here. I didn't know that she could affect this much.

That's great.

Gavin point at the door as we both left the chamber to go converse outside.

"We should tell the lady, if she visit him...you'll never know what's going to happen." I said.

Gavin smirk, "if you were there that night at Lancaster, you would see what I saw going on between her and the Prince."

I nodded, "I did some investigation on the lady, her father is the king's best friend. She is deadly rich. She's richer than Princess Abigail, the fact that she is a heiress."

"Princess Abigail is a princess of a very poor country, I don't get why the king arranged the marriage for her and the Prince."

I shook my head, there's no way the king would do that to his heir. "The prince was the one who sent the wed invitation to her." I said.

Gavin was perplex, I guess the prince haven't told him yet. I sigh, "the prince wanted to get over Lady Anamaria after she left hurting his feeling the last visit."

Gavin protested, "his majesty was the one to blame. He could have been nicer to her that night. I know I shouldn't eavesdropped but I wouldn't know what happened between his highness and lady Anamaria."

"What happened?" I asked curiously.

"Nothing," Gavin cleared his throat. "It doesn't matter."

I nodded, "go take care of his highness. I will let everyone aware about this news."

Gavin went back to his room as I made my way to the castle garden. Only to see Beth standing looking at the flower with her beautiful red hair.

"Beth I have an exciting news to tell you," I caught her attention. She quickly wipe her tears away, "what happened?" I demanded as I grab her hand.

"Nothing important!" Beth yanked her hand away.

"It's about your ex boyfriend isn't it?" I frown. I grab her arm, "when are you going to forget about him."

"I am forgetting about him!" She yelled. "What is it you have to tell me?"

I sigh, "the prince is awake from the coma."

A little bit of Beth's face lighten up. Her face brighten beautifully as soon as she smiled. "You should tell Lady Anamaria!"

"Why don't you want to tell her?" I asked.

She shook her head, "I don't want her to remember me yet."

"Remember you?" I asked confused.

"Nothing," she suddenly said. "Thanks for the news."

I pull her arm and release her, "do you want to talk about us?" I asked.

She shook her head, "there is no us." She turn her heel as I feel the far apart distance between us.
