Chapter 36

*Kayla's P.O.V.*

I'm really worried about Joe. I've hardly gotten to know him but I'm so drawn to him. There's something about him that intrigues me. I need to find out more about him. I want to know every little thing.

I seem to be lost in my thoughts as I notice a blurry pinky beige coloured figure waving in front of my face.
I bring my head back to let my eyes adjust to what was going on.

Zoe's hand was waving in my face.
"What?" I ask, hitting her hand away softly.
"Day dreaming, are we?" She asks with a cheeky grin. "Anyone in particular?"
"Who said I was day dreaming about someone?" I blurt out.
"Ooh. Who?" Charlie asks.
"Nobody!" I say quite loudly.
Both Charlie and Zoe laugh and keep going.
"Come on! Who? It had to be someone. We're girls too you know!" Zoe continues, laughing.
Charlie stands back a bit, silently laughing now.
"I'm being honest. Nobody. I wasn't thinking about anything." I lie, looking to the floor, wishing it would swallow me up.
"You looked away, you're lying. Who was it?" Charlie says, standing over me.
Dammit. I couldn't fool her.
I throw up my hands defensively.
"I'm calling my lawyer!" I laugh as I get up and walk up the stairs to my temporary room.

I wonder how long Charlie is willing to let me stay here. Hopefully a while. I can't go back there.... Not after what happened.. No. Not those thoughts. I'm here now. Happy. With Joe. And Zoe, Charlie, Alfie and Caspar as well.
But Joe.

I decide to text Joe and ask where he is.

Kayla: Hey where are you? Are you with the other boys? Let me know you're safe. Please? x

I was unsure about the 'x' I put at the end but I forget about it. It's sent now. No use worrying. He probably won't think anything of it.

My phone vibrates and I jump. I quickly pick it up to see if Joe has replied. It's just Twitter... Are you kidding me?

I walk back down stairs, feeling a bit deflated.
The other two are still in the kitchen talking about whatever cousins talk about.

"You alright?" Zoe asks as she glances up at me.
"Eh. Could be better. It just sucks, you know?" I answer.
"Someone's missing the boys! Or one in particular, hmm?" Zoe says, rubbing her chin - pretending to be a detective I guess. Something like that. Charlie and Zoe both burst into laughter at Zoe's weird act.
"Nope." I say plainly. I didn't find it all that funny.

I feel so out of place here. There are only these two to talk to. Maybe that's why I'm finding it tough right now.
Joe was welcoming and Alfie was really laid back. I haven't really talked to him at all but I've seen him talking to everyone. I definitely did not leave the best first impression on Caspar. I was a bit over reactive.. But he stunned me. I didn't know what to do. I probably shouldn't have sworn at him. Oh well. It's done now.

I grab my laptop out of its cover and stare at it for a moment. My Macbook is like my own child. I open the screen and turn it on.
When it finishes waking up - or turning on if you want to be boring about it - I type in my password and go to my internet browser. I type in YouTube and within seconds, all the search results appear.
I click the top one.

The webpage comes up and I go to my subscriptions. Joe was a new name in my subscription list. I clicked his name and it took me to his channel. I silently scanned through all of his videos. A lot of them I'd already watched. I went over to his vlog channel, I haven't watched as many of those. I clicked the most interesting titled one there and watched it. About 40 seconds in I was already laughing. Quietly, of course.

"Kayla, do you want dinner?" I hear Charlie ask through the door.
"Yes please." I reply.
I glance over at my bed side clock. Its 6:45. Shit. I have been watching Joe's vlogs for hours. Almost cleared the whole channel. If I did, I would continue on with his gaming channel. There was no reason to, yet.

I finish the whole vlogging channel and then switch to his gaming channel. I first watch him, Caspar and Oli play CoD exo Zombies. It's hilarious. Caspar isn't very good at that game. It would be fun if I could play a game for a video with him one day.
I watch the whole lot of them playing exo zombies and then go on to watch all the other random videos on his gaming channel - that aren't series.

"Dinner's ready!" I hear Zoe call.

"Be down in a minute!" I reply, and walk downstairs.

Okay so I don't know if any other country has this other than Australia, maybe New Zealand? But I am craving YoGo. If you don't know what it is, it's this chocolate custard and its amazing. I used to eat it every night after dinner. It is the best thing everrrrrrrrrr and I really want some right now.
