"Cordelia, it is undeniable that your charm shines the brightest at Pixie Blessing. Your allure captivates everyone who encounters you," I acknowledged, expressing my awareness of her as the star of the tavern.
A mischievous smile graced Cordelia's lips as she responded, "Ah, so now you understand the extent of my charm?"
"But what intrigues me is whether you approach all of your patrons with such intimacy, as you did with me?"
"Like what exactly?" she asked with a teasing gaze, a glimmer of mischief dancing in her eyes. It was evident that she expected me to be flustered and succumbed to her playful trap. But I remained steadfast, refusing to be ensnared by her enchantment.
"Such as grabbing my arm and pulling it close to your bosom," I stated bluntly, leaving no room for ambiguity.
A momentary pause followed, and Cordelia's playful façade momentarily faltered. "You're not one for games, Takahiko," she playfully protested, her voice betraying a hint of disappointment, "I'm not doing this to anyone." Yet, she made no effort to release my hands, continuing to maintain her grasp on the table.
"As far as I recall, our interactions began around two years ago when you took my order, correct?" I sought confirmation, attempting to piece together the timeline of our encounters. "I should be just one of your many customers. So, I am puzzled as to why you approached me with such intimacy."
A mischievous glint sparkled in Cordelia's eyes as she turned the question back to me. "Well, what do you think, Takahiko?" she teased.
I pondered her question, carefully considering all the information that had been shared with me. The complex dynamics between Cordelia, Sir Geoffrey, and their hidden motives began to crystallize within my mind. With a hint of certainty, I offered my speculation.
"I suspect that you were feigning affection towards me, with the intention of convincing Sir Geoffrey that you had developed a genuine interest in order to dissuade his persistence," I proposed, presenting my analysis.
"That's an interesting answer, but it's only half correct," Cordelia remarked, her eyes fixed on mine.
Perplexed, I continued to observe her, silently urging her to provide further explanation.
With a surprising shift in her demeanor, Cordelia confessed with a genuine expression that mirrored that of a maiden in love, "I truly have taken a liking to you."
