------ fourth arc notes ------

Finally, we've reached the end of the story's darkest chapter. No more unsettling stuff ahead, I promise. I didn't want to plunge into a world where my knowledge barely scratches the surface. Seriously delving into it would mean staking my life and sanity, immersing myself in piles of research materials. I'm well aware of the pervasive misery out there, and I'm grateful for the luxury of writing about it in a calm manner.

So, with all my sincerity, I'm continuing this tale with everything I've got. As we move into the fifth arc, I've decided to bring the story back to the everyday lives of Takahiko and Sofia. Amanda, an initially minor character, caught my interest. Originally just a plot device to move things forward, she, like Cordelia, has grown on me with her innocent, childlike charm. Understanding the behavior of a 12-year-old isn't easy—it's not entirely childlike but far from a teenager, a unique stage in between. Also I wonder if I wrote Isabelle POV correctly, or at least close to the real case. As I said, I was writing from third source and I didn't have the full understanding, as I only have little confirmation, but I hope it conveyed the horror of what she experienced. I know I've been cruel to her for the sake of the story's progression, even I feel bad writing about it.

Also, in fourth arc, I like how I write about the two courtesans Bella and Serafina. They supposed to be just a two NPC in the story, but I grew to like them as well. But I also realized that i have little knowledge of first experience on their working places, so I once again, depends on the mighty google search, wikipedia, and quora. I hope i wrote that correctly. But anyway, the fourth arc was quite tasking compared to previous arc, but whatever the result, I can proudly said I wrote them, myself.

This fifth arc marks the story's finale. It's surreal to realize that. When I started, I had no idea it would stretch this far. Anyway, I hope to wrap it up in a way that does justice to the narrative. I know this isn't a literary masterpiece; it's just my attempt at crafting a story I'd enjoy reading. If you've stuck with me till now, I genuinely thank you from the bottom of my heart.

With that said, get ready for the grand finale.

Sincerely,
Wilma Zhuo Li
