This is it.

This marks the end of the road for now.

I admit, there's a part of me itching to explore every nuance of Takahiko and Sofia's lives. Their wedding preparations, their passionate first night — all of it tempts me. But in the spirit of brevity, I've decided to wrap up this chapter of Merchant & Tavern Master.

There are still many issues, especially concerning how the characters speak, character names, the progression of time, and transitioning between scenes. I still struggle with writing the process of shifting time. I plan to address these problems in the future, but for now, I need to take a break from writing and enjoy a holiday.

A friend once told me that a writer's job is to lead their readers to a satisfying conclusion, even if that reader happens to be themselves. I wrote this story because it embodies the kind of tale I crave, the one I'd happily read again and again. It's akin to relishing a favorite dish before diving into new culinary adventures. This story has been my personal journey, tailored to my tastes.

Speaking of the final scene between Takahiko and Sofia at Cordelia's grave, I have a confession to make. It wasn't entirely my creation. I borrowed it from Rumiko Takahashi's 'Maison Ikkoku' closing chapters near its end. It was a manga that left a lasting impression on me. When I write that scene for Takahiko and Sofia, I always want to use that scene into my own story. The scene fit seamlessly, like using familiar ingredients to craft a cherished recipe.

And so, this is my farewell message for 'Merchant & Tavern Master.' To all those who've walked this journey with me, I owe you my deepest gratitude. Your unwavering support has been my inspiration. Through this endeavor, I've learned invaluable lessons about the art of storytelling. In the next chapter, I aspire to grow and evolve, offering you a narrative that reflects this progress, ensuring your continued enjoyment.

Thank you once more, and I eagerly anticipate our next 'meeting' in another story.

Farewell,

Wilma Zhuo Li
