Mia's P.O.V.
I still had to take in everything that went on in Jeremy's room moments ago. The boy that I was certain I had all figured out turned out to shock me even more with his tears and soft side. Right now, we were sitting in the room: Alone. Mama Cover and Lucy had long gone home, leaving Jeremy in my care after a long argument with Dad, who was very against me staying with Jeremy for the night. Chris, David, Zach, Chelsea, Larissa and Karen had bid their goodbye's as well and went back home.
"Aren't you going to say anything?"
I lifted up my head from my book that I was so indulged in and met Jeremy's blue gaze. I hated thinking back that just minutes ago, those eyes were filled with tears. His hair was a mess on his head, covering his forehead and also partially covering those blue orbs of perfection. They were still rimmed with redness around his iris. He had the hospital band around his wrist while his fist was bandaged with a white cloth. An IV drip was stuck into his wrist and the constant drip was driving me insane as the second past. I just only realized that his eyes had been fixated on me the whole time.
I pulled the glasses up to my head and slammed the book shut. I knew what page I was at by heart.
"What do you want me to say, Jer?" I asked in a quiet voice. His icy blue eyes continued to watch me as he scooted over in his bed and patted the empty space. Understanding what he meant, I placed the book and glasses on the table and climbed into the empty spot. At first, I was all uncomfortable and rigid in my spot but when warm, big arms were wrapped around my waist; I sighed in pleasure. I placed my head on his chest, careful not to trip over the IV drip and listened to the constant thud of his strong heart.
It was almost melodious, were it not on the verge of being removed in a few days' time. "Are you scared?" I questioned, tracing invisible circles over his covered chest. I heard him suck in a breath and felt my lips curl up into a sad smile.
"I get scared of lots of things, Mia." He replied in a quiet tone, his lips pressed down on my head for a kiss. Propping my chin on his sturdy chest, I lifted up my head and met those cerulean eyes once again. "What about?" His lips parted slightly as his long fingers carressed my cheeks in the most soothing way. I shuddered at his touch, my eyes fluttered close. "I get scared of losing you everyday."
My eyes snapped open and my heart tore at how much love and tenderness was shown through his eyes. Never in my life would I have envisioned ever having a guy like Jeremy love a girl like me. "You shouldn't be. I will always be right here." I replied with a small smile. He flashed back a smile at me. Suddenly, his chest started vibrating. I got scared and quickly gave a look see at the heart monitor when I realized that he was laughing.
My lips were pulled down into a frown as I returned my gaze to the laughing idiot.
"What is so funny, Jeremy?"
He wiped the tears from his eyes and gave me a boyish grin. He looked so adorable that it felt wrong to be angry with him. "I was just thinking that after everything we have been through, you are still here and I - I can't live without you anymore, Princess Leia."
That was supposed to be funny? Devil Mia snorted while crossing her arms over her chest. Angel Mia simply smiled in content.
The seconds, minutes and hours ticked by in an impossibly slow rhythm as I studied every feature on his face. Blue eyes shining with sincerity and sudden seriousness. Lips parted as he waited for a reply from me and his whole face glowed like Christmas lights.
I giggled childishly and sat up on my spot. Jeremy instinctively sat up too and quirked an eyebrow. I gave him a genuine smile as I laid my palm flat on his chest and pulled myself closer against him. My legs tangled with his. "I can't live without you either, Jeremy." I whispered the words that felt better out than being kept in. Without any warning whatsoever, I cupped his cheek and pressed my lips against his. He responded immediately despite my sudden action as his lips pulled me out of reality and his fingers tangled into my hair.
