Larissa's P.O.V.

We were carefully passing by Central Park but what caused me to gap was because the scenery was so amazing. There were kids running around with a boomerang or those huge bubble balls in hand. There were also some people who were picnicking in the middle of the park on the large patch of grass. It had such an amazing and breathtaking air to absorb in that I felt tears fill up my eyes. Thinking of all those times picnicking with Dad, Mom and Gabriel. But we used to picnic in the backyard where it was just the four of us. I rubbed my eyes angrily and refused to feel vulnerable now. I am just starting a new life.

Right next to Central Park, there was a couple of kids who were skating and we were stopping here. Chris killed the engine and I snapped my head towards him. He had a giant smirk on his face. "Dude! Roller-skating is my thing, not yours." He frowned at that. "Quick to judge, are we?" I shook my head and immediately felt guilty. "No, I was just -"

He waved a hand before him and ignored my statement earlier.

"It's fine. Actually, I used to love roller-skating when I was a kid. I always came here with Jeremy and David. But it has been awhile. I might stumble and fall a little."

I patted his lap and said, "No worries. Californians are pros in roller-skating so you don't have to worry." I added a wink in the end and he rolled his eyes.

"Well, that's completely reassuring."

I smiled at him, shaking my head.

Chris' P.O.V.

I was standing on the empty road with Larissa by my side. She tied up the knots on her roller skates and straightened up her backs. She smiled at me and I could feel my heart doing all sorts of crazy things inside.

"I'm all set." She gave me her thumbs-up and a wink.

I smiled back at her and looked ahead of us. I swallowed hard and thought of all those times when David, Jeremy and I did this. When we were eleven. I just hope to God I don't embarass myself in front of a girl I was really looking out to impress. Just then, she interrupts my thoughts. "Chris, why don't we promise something? You know, if we live."

I looked at her and saw her chocolate orbs sparkling with humor and laughter. It seems her eyes were doing all the smile now.

"Okay."

I felt a small smile crept up to the corners of my lips as she held out her pinky. I had never done this  before with a girl at that. I bit down hard on my bottom lip and kept myself from bursting out into laughter. I held out my own pinky and wrapped it around her own. She took in a sharp intake of breath and said, looking at me with her beautiful brown hues. "If I win, I'll go get a tattoo and I don't mean the sticker type. i mean the real kind. And I'll also have my first drink."

I lifted up my eyebrows and knew that she was serious. Wow, you are in love with a real innocent chick, dude? a small but sarcastic voice decided to voice out its opinion. I shook off the thought of loving Larissa. "And, if I win, you will do something to surprise me by the end of the day." She srunched up her eyebrows and looked at me with confusion written all over her face. She looked unbelievably adorable. "I haven't the slightest clue to what you just said." I laughed and ruffled up her hair. "You'll see, princess."

For a moment, I thought she would drop out with the look on her face but she beat me against it. "Okay. Let's do this."

I gave her the best mischievous smile I could master and said, "Alright then."
