Mia's P.O.V.

"That's it!" I said frustratedly after waiting outside for almost a half and hour. I stood up and almost stormed towards the E.R. door when the door swung open only to stop a few inches away from my face. Dr. Cynthia came out of the room with a few nurses by her side. She was holding a clipboard in one hand while she made all sorts of hand gestures at the nurses who simply nodded their heads obediently.

"Doctor?" I asked in a quiet voice. Her head snapped up and I found myself locking eyes with a pair of emerald hues framed with a pair of glasses. A smile immediately touched her lips as she nodded her head to my unasked question.

"He's doing fine. A little rough around the edges but very much alive." I nodded my head slowly. My heart's rapid beating had slowed down a notch as soon as those words left the doctor's lips. I didn't even bother to question the duration of the operation that almost took a whole evening and night.

Lucy came up from behind me and placed her hands on my shoulders. "When can we see him, Doc?" Doctor Cynthia gestured towards the room but before that she held up one hand to stop us from bombarding the room all together. "You can see him in small groups, try to keep the oxygen going in there. Okay?" We all nodded our heads unison.

Mama Cover and Lucy went in first. Doctor Cynthia had gone over to the receptionist's desk to get Jeremy checked out. I sat curled up next to Chris while Larissa had her head on his lap. Zac and Karen were seated on the floor as flows of conversation passed back and forth between them. Chelsea and David were seated beside us as well. Other than the little chatters and silent giggles, we were relatively silent.

20 minutes later, Mama Cover and Lucy came out of the room with a bag pack slung over Lucy's shoulder. "You guys go on ahead. We'll be downstairs, getting something to eat." As Mama Cover and Lucy made their way down the hall, Chris, Larisssa, Chris' dad and mom walked into the room next. After everyone had their turn, I stood up from the chair and walked over to the door. "Mi-Mi!" I swivelled around and saw my adorable munchkins running towards me with their arms out spread. Grinning, I knelt down and scooped them up to my chest.

Tiny giggles erupted against my chest as the three of them sqealed in a high pitched voice. "Can't. Breathe. Mi-Mi!" I pulled away from them and smiled as smiles spread across their tiny, little cheeks. "Mia." I looked up and met my parents faces. I scrambled up to a standing position. I exchanged looks with Mom when she nudged Dad forward. I looked over at Dad. He kept rubbing the back of his neck in nervousness or pure awkwardness.

I'm guessing nervousness.

"Mia - I want to tell you something and you listen good, alright? No interrupting."

"O-kay," I said, giving a quick glance in Mom's direction. Dad took one of my hands and guided me back to the seats propped up against the wall. Mom and my munchkins had already went into Jeremy's room. I felt envious towards them. Still keeping my hands in his, Dad started.

"The reason why I was always uncomfortable with Jeremy was because I used to be just like that when I was in high school. Rebellious, always looking for girls to pick on and so forth. But, I can see the way he looks at you. He -"

"Like when you look at Mom," I mumbled softly as my mind revved back to Jeremy's beautiful blue eyes. Dad nodded cautiously. "Exactly and I want you to know that I'm sorry for thinking any different of him. You obviously mean something to him, just like your mom does to me." A grin split across my lips as I placed my arms around Dad. He patted my back heart-warmingly.

When I pulled back, Dad flashed me a smile as he thrusted his thumb towards Jeremy's room. "Go on in. I'm not much of a bonding person so he will just have to wait till he proposes." A blush instantly clouds my cheeks at the thought of Jeremy going down on his knees to propose to me. For the hundreth time today, I pulled myself off the chair and sauntered towards my room.
