Larissa's P.O.V.
New York had to be my favourite place now because a) my dreams were finally starting to come true in Big Apple and b) my neighbor was Christopher Valentine! I mean, come on. Back in Cali, most of my friends had posters of him being half nude and also that to-die-for smirk. He was after all the son of a millionaire. Who could resist a boy who was a model at the age of seventeen and someone who had jaw-dropping looks like Zayn Malik? Yup, I can't. But something told me that he was the definition of a spoiled, cold-hearted and hard-headed heir of a millionaire.
In other words: I have dealt with boys like Christopher in my past and would never repeat the same idiotic mistake again. I mean, why would a guy who looks like Christopher Valentine fall for a girl like me? Not that I'm anything special or anything but - I was NOT the type of girl who gives second chances to guys like Christopher. I'm sure our feelings towards each other were mutual too.
The thing was when I talked to him this afternoon, I had felt a connection between the both of us. If only Gabriel had not called me earlier, I would have had the chance to find out what the connection between me and Christopher meant. Right now, I shook off the thought and take a seat on my bed. Facing the balcony, I laid my guitar on my lap and take a deep breath.
Looking down on my guitar, I strummed a familiar tune. As I felt my body humming to the rythm of the song, I started singing.
There I was again tonight,
Forcing laughter faking smiles,
Same old tired lonely place,
Walls of insincerity,
Shifting eyes and vacancy,
Vanished when I saw your face,
All I can say is it was enchanting to meet you.
I dragged the 'you' and continued singing in the same tone, only a little higher this time.
Your eyes whispered, "have we met?",
Across the room, your silhouette,
Starts to make it's way to me,
The playful conversation starts,
Counter all your quick remarks like,
Passing notes in secrecy,
And it was enchanting to meet you. . .
Again, I dragged the 'you' and this time I felt a pair of gorgeous brown eyes on me.
All I can say is it was enchanting to meet you.
I strummed at a faster pace and sang a little louder.
This night is sparkling,
Don't you let it go,
I'm wonderstruck,
Blushing all the way home,
I'll spend forever,
Wondering if you knew,
I was enchanted to meet you.
Once again, the tempo went back to normal and I stood, strumming on the guitar and singing to the beautiful lyrics.
