Although every part of her body fought to stay in bed, Kendall went to the living room instead. She knew it wasn't much, but at least she would be in an area around people.

"Morning, Ben." She smiled, sitting next to him on the couch. He returned a small smile and went back to watching 21 Jumpstreet. Kendall didn't mind, the new rising star, Johnny Depp, was a hotty hot hot.

"Did Charlie already leave?" Kendall questioned, noticing it was a bit too quiet in the Conway home.

"Uh yeah. He said he had some business to take care of before meeting Dean and Fulton." Ben answered, his eyes glued to the tv.

"Oh, did he say what that business was?"

"Nope."

"Huh." Kendall hummed to herself. She couldn't help but her curiosity get the better of her.

Soon enough Kendall's eyes were glued to the screen too. "Oh my gosh! So was Tom Hanson actually the one to kill that other guy?"

"I don't know but Hanson would never do that. He's the one with the highest morals!" Ben answered enthusiastically, once the episode ended and cut to commercial.

"They're all undercover cops, shouldn't they all have high morals?"

"You wouldn't believe some of the stuff they have on here. I just hope Penhall doesn't think he was the one who killed him."

"Oh yeah! I love Penhall, he definitely will be there for Hanson. He has to!"

There was a pause of silence before Kendall opened her mouth to ask her question. "What time are you going to the movies?"

"I'm leaving at 6:30, the movie starts at 7."

Kendall nodded her head, thinking. She absolutely didn't want to have to go out and socialize and be out of the comfort of her home, but she made a promise to Charlie that she would try.

So, instead of ending the conversation there, she slowly turned to Ben and asked, "is the invite still open to go?"

"Yeah, of course! That's if you can handle my friends flirting."

Kendall laughed, "i think i can manage."

The tv went silent once more before playing the next episode. Kendall was glued to her seat, she had to see what happened next. Luckily this show was showing reruns, she couldn't wait long for another episode.

As soon as the screened brightened to continue, the phone rang.

Ben and Kendall both stared at each other, neither of them wanting to miss the show.

"It's probably for you anyway," Ben reasoned.

Kendall rolled her eyes, begrudgingly getting up to answer the phone.

"Hello?"

"Hey Kendall, it's Lucas."

"Oh hey Lucas, what's up?"

He cleared his throat, "i was uh wondering if you were free to hang out tonight?"

"I actually just made plans to go see a movie with my step brother and his friends." Kendall spoke disappointedly, but she was actually relieved. She was nervous to see Lucas after the last time they hung out.

"Oh dang. What movie are you going to go see?"

"Uh this new Christmas movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger, i think it's called Jingle All the Way."

"That sounds fun! Let me know how it is."

Kendall couldn't help noticing the pit that formed in her stomach. She could easily invite Lucas to go. Ben wouldn't care. She felt guilty. He still wanted to be her friend and she was trying to avoid him.
