⎈resist you⎈
OCTOBER
"Its so stupid!" Kendall laughed shortly before continuing on with her point, "i mean first of all, why is she sitting in her room with the door open, naked. And secondly, her brother is six years old. Like why does she let him keep stabbing her? I would've bitch slapped the little gremlin." She finished, eating some popcorn.
"Stop trying to ruin my favorite movie." Dean pushed her jokingly, stealing some popcorn from the bowl.
The two had sat on the floor of the Conway's living room watching the film classic, Halloween.
"You know i'm right." She smiled, throwing a piece of popcorn at him. He smiled as he hooked his arm around her head and messing up her hair.
Now that Lucas was out of the picture, Dean got to have his Kendall back. He missed her, but they were close again now. It was like they had never been distant at all.
"You know what's not talked about enough?" Kendall commented, her arms hugging around her legs.
"Huh?" He hummed, tilting his head to see her.
A small smirk pulled at her face, "you stripping in the penalty box our freshman year. It was quite the show." She laughed.
He smiled brighter, nodding his head, "oh you liked that huh?"
She blew out a breath before signing out a chefs kiss, "uh huh. Ohh yeahh."
They smiled looking each other in the eyes. At that moment Dean thought this might've been the moment she would kiss him. But disappointedly she turned her head back to the tv with a small smile.
He shook his head, cursing himself. She doesn't like you.
Two boys trailed in from the front door, acting a fool. Dean watched as her whole demeanor changed. Undoubtedly because of Adam Banks.
She sat up straighter as the two walked in. "Oh sweet you guys are watching Halloween." Charlie spoke, bending over and stealing some popcorn out of the bowl Kendall held.
Adam looked to him, shuffling awkwardly. Good. At least he had learned to keep the smart comments to himself.
"Hey Dean. Kens." Adam greeted standing beside his friend. Dean nodded his head, acknowledging.
"Hi Adam." Kendall smiled, twisting her rings around her fingers, "how are you?"
"I'm doing pretty good." He replied. a lie.
"Good. I'm glad... also i've been meaning to give you this." She stood quickly rushing to her room and back. She handed him sheets of paper.
"It's the plays Coach Orion wants us to work on for our upcoming games. I memorized them. Do you have a time you're free to practice?" He stared down at her as she waited for his response. Ever since that night, his mind replayed every moment. When he looked at her, it made it harder to forget. He wanted her so bad.
People were right when they said that, that type of connection with a person brought a whole other set of factors. He should have waited.
It was harder when he realized that everything Kendall had said was true.
-
FLASHBACK: AUGUST VARSITY HOCKEY MIXERHe held her note in his hand through the whole dinner. She had agreed. She agreed that it was a mistake. Maybe it truly was then.
Whatever that night was, he knew he had to talk to her.
His eyes scanned the room to notice Kendall exiting through the fancy, big doors.
"I have to go to the bathroom. I'll be right back." He whispered to the girl beside him, before quickly walking off.
He busted through the doors, scanning the parking lot. Noticing the girls wavy long hair blowing as she walked alone.
"Kendall!" He called out, running up to her. She turned quickly, seeing the tall boy approach her.
She furrowed her eyebrows, looking at him strangely, "what's up, Adam?" She questioned, although she had a pretty good idea.
He breathed heavily, a bit out of breath. Some from running, partially nerves. "Kens i am so sorry for leaving like i did."
She smiled, waving a hand in front of her, "it's okay. We agreed it was a mistake right?"
He shook his head the thought of it being a mistake upsetting him, "no it wasn't a mistake. I lied. I had promised my Dad i would try to move on. I told him i would start seeing the girl he wanted for me, then we would go to Europe together. I'm sorry i just wanted to make my dad proud of me."
Kendall keeping her cool only lasted so long. She shook her head furiously, "woah wait. Are you saying that you were seeing Mackenzie when we had sex?"
Adam looked at her, his regret evident. "Yeah."
She scoffed her hands being brought up to her hair. "Fuck Adam! Why didn't you fucking stop me?"
His arms were extended out, "i couldn't. I finally had you Kendall. I know it was selfish."
She cut him off, "uh yeah! It was selfish as fuck! You not only hurt yourself but two other people. Both me and Mackenzie didn't deserve that."
"I know! But i don't want to be with her. I want to be with you! Everything i said that night was true, all of it."
"But you are with her Adam! Even if it is to make your father happy. And at least she pleases your family, we both know my Minneapolis ass could never." She began to walk away, feeling betrayed. Almost worthless.
He ran after her, "it doesn't matter what they think. I want you to know that i don't regret what happened between us. I regret the circumstances, but i could never regret what we did. I love you."
She turned on her heels. "Yeah i've heard it all before Adam. I'm sorry, I love you, i regret this, i shouldn't have done that. If you really mean all that you said then defy your dad. Come get me."
She stood in silence, watching him carefully. She knew he would never do it.
Yet, He walked closer, not stopping until he stood right in front of her, placing his hands around her back.
She looked into his eyes, now completely unsure of what he was going to do next. She slowly moved her mouth towards his ear, brushing her lips ever so slightly against his neck. His breathing became uneven, his heart pounding.
"You act like you can resist me," she whispered softly into his ear, watching as his body stiffened. "We both know you can't." Her breath on his neck sent a shiver through his body. She was right. He couldn't resist.
He gave in, kissing along her jaw fervently. Like he had no control over his body.
She backed up, the boy tripping over his own feet from suddenly using his force on nothing. She smiled, tilting her head to look at him, "but i can resist you, Adam."
She laughed shortly, making her way to Connie's car, making the boy feel stupid. "You need to grow up Adam! And don't worry, friends right?" She shouted over her shoulder, the smirk still playing at her face. That had felt good.
They drove away, the boy still standing there. Their was nothing left to do.
