"Masaki-ojisan, do you think they saw that?" I asked the old man who took us in. It was him who took us in right away when we were sent in this world. Turned out he's an uncle of mine, he's also a Ratri, one who escaped, changed his name, and hide his past. I mean, not my uncle, but my brother's.

He can't bear the fact that they were sacrificing kids for those monsters. He said that my brother, James, tried asking him for help before but, he refused. He was scared to die, and to those demons. So, he shooed him away and pretend that he didn't know him.

"I'm pretty sure they did. It might take a while before they arrive here. This place is one of the famous shrine here in Osaka, so there's no need to worry, they'll find you," he answered and ruffled my hair.

"Still...I can't believe that you and your friends really...reforged the promise. Our family is finally free from that curse," he added as he smooth my hair. He stare at the moon while I watch it's reflection on the pond in front of us.

"For one thousand years, we couldn't do anything but, to follow their orders, to kill thousands of kids for those demons' satisfaction. We sacrificed our own kind...until now, I still can't accept it. But, after that 'strange phenomenon' last three years, where kids and adults appeared with different marks on their bodies, I was ecstatic...James did it, he was able to free the kids from that hell, and I was proud of the kids who fought for their freedom," Masaki-ojisan sounded really happy, his voice contains the contentment and joy.

"I'm so proud of you, too, Faethean," my eyes widened when I heard that name that I already buried in the past.

"I knew right away that it was you, that's why I rushed to the police station. That number, 02194, was the number that was written in this paper," he pulled something out from the pocket of his clothes and hand it to me. It's a small paper that is folded into two, it already looks old.

"I planned to throw it away but, there's something inside me that told me to keep it. It's from James, and I was scared that those men from the family might think of me as his accomplice if I have this with me. But...I just can't throw it away, so I kept it with me, for all those years," James...my brother. He's really thinking of me ever since? He really...loved me and cared for me, huh? I sometimes thought that maybe he only created me for that purpose he etched into my mind, but I'm glad I believe in him. He does care for me as a human being.

I want to cry, I feel happy.

"Thank you, Masaki-ojisan," I said, he gave me a smile as he nod his head.

"I should be the one thanking you, you free us from that curse," I smiled.

"No, you can thank her once she got here. She's the one who fought really hard to give the humans their own will and the right to choose their future after all. I...on the other hand, wasn't able to help at all..." I replied, lowering down my head. While I spend my time making new memories with my family, Emma was doing her best to have the future she wanted. It sucks...

Masaki-ojisan chuckled.

"That's not true, don't underestimate yourself," he caressed my back and I just gave her a smile.

"Now then, why don't you go to bed? It's already so late, you'll have to come with me tomorrow and pick my foster child from her school. They had a camping and tomorrow's the end of it," Masaki-ojisan pat my shoulder and I nod my head to him as I stood up.
