25 - SNAKES OF THE ALVAR PINERA.

【 FAITH 】

After making it outside, the sixteen of us continue walking while following the compass we brought. I look up to the trees, all of it are huge! This forest is different from what we were in a while ago. The trees are bigger than I expected, it's not something I can just climb on. Plus, the sound of the birds is soooo loud, all we can hear is the birds and our own footsteps.

"Woah, they're huge," Thoma commented, I roamed my eyes around and I can tell that the outside world is really beautiful---except those demons who are living here.

The environment is so great. The trees are not like the normal trees I saw from the books back then and it's a lot more different from the ones in the House! Just...where in the world are we?

I was about to go and help Yvette to stand when she fell but, I heard a strange sound from on the trees behind us, so I quickly turned my head to check. However, I saw nothing. What was that?

"You noticed it, too?" Ray asked, I glanced at him and nodded in response. This forest is dangerous, the surrounding looks so peaceful. But we didn't know what living things we can encounter here, are there wild animals here? Demons? It's quiet but, there was that strange sound, I did not catch what it was, it could be just a small and harmless animal. But, we still need to be careful.

"But, I think this forest is safe, I don't see any traces of wild animals," He spoke, I didn't respond and just continue walking. It's been how many hours since we reached this forest, but we still can't find the way out of this forest. It's too huge.

"That's what made it strange, though," I replied, Ray cocked his brows and wait for me to continue. Like he said, there are no traces of wild animals. But, why? I don't want us to be chased by wild animals or something but...

"This forest is huge, and sooo spacious. How come we haven't seen a trace of a wild animal? Isn't it strange for this kind of forest not to be filled with wild animals? I'm not complaining, though," I explained, Ray stared at me for a while as if he's giving it a thought, then, he slowly nod his head.

"You actually have a point..." He mumbled.

Our pace is starting to drop, the kids feels sleepy and tired. On top of that, the forest floor here is really difficult to get through. This is bad, we need to find a safest place of this forest where we can rest and sleep even just for a minutes.

"But, we have no idea about the reason why. So, let's just be careful and watch our surroundings," he said, patting my head. I nod then, head to the other kids who are having a hard time in climbing some fallen trunks.

"Make sure to be careful," I helped the other kids to climb the huge tree trunk on the ground, it seemed like it fell about a long long years ago.

I can see the kids rubbing their eyes and forcing themselves to run even though they feel exhausted. I am also tired, I guess it's fine for us to rest here for a while. We need to be alert even though Ray mentioned that there are no traces of wild animals here.

"Emma, let's stop over here. We need to regain our energy," I suggested and pointed at the tree with a huge hole on the bottom part of the trunk, as if it was used for camping. We can stay there for a while, Emma nodded and we bring the kids under that tree trunk. Gilda and Don get the bundle of food.
