Y/n's pov:

Me and my brother got to the hotel. On the way to the hotel i bought some new clothes for me and Carter.

The next morning, me and Carter went to one of the shops outside for breakfast.

After eating, i payed for the food and went to CatCo to meet our mother. I wasn't too happy about it, but Carter was excited.

Meeting the woman who left me after i was born and never even bothered to visit.

We got to CatCo, while we were waiting, i was playing with Carter on our phones. I didn't have work today

"Mom!" I heard my brother say. I looked up and see my brother get up running to the elevator that revealed my mother.

I got up and walked towards them only a few feet away. I crossed my arms looking down at the floor.

"Honey! Oh, my gosh! Oh, my gosh! I was so worried. Are you okay? Are you okay? Were you scared? Did you get hurt!" She asks hugging my brother tightly then pulled away.

"I met Supergirl! She was amazing. And she's so much prettier in person" Carter said

"Well, did you notice any of her other attributes?" My mother said leading Carter to a seat.

"Um, she's super strong- and smart and brave and kind and she saved you all." She cut my brother off already knowing the answer. "Tell me, what do you think makes her a hero?" She asks standing up straight

"I'd say her legs. Definitely her legs." Carter joked, i look at him with a shocked face. "Her heart, mom." Carter said then stood up from his seat.

"Oh! That was a joke. That was a joke. Carter, you made a joke. You never make a joke." She said before gasping "School. School. you have to go to school. You're gonna be late. The cars down waiting for you. Did you brush your teeth.." my mother stopped.

I notice she was looking at me. "Y/n.." she said in a sad tone.

"Hello, mother." I said looking anywhere else but her eyes.

I see Kara rushing to Carter to say bye. My mother just stood there looking at me.

"You've grown up." She said making Kara look at me. I nodded in response.

"Yeah. With no help from you and father." I said looking up at the ceiling. I had tears in my eyes that wanted to come out, but i didn't let them.

The room was silent for a moment before Carter broke it. "Bye Kara!" Carter said hugging Kara then pulled away after a few seconds. "Mom, Kara and i had an epic Nerf gun battle." Carter said

"Yeah, we did." Kara said agreeing with Carter.

"And she knows how to play Settlers of Catan almost as well as you do." Carter said making my mother tilt her head "Can she watch me again?" Carter asked.

"I think you should hold on to those happy memories, sweetheart." She said "I love you. Have a good day in school." She said then hugged my brother.

Those 3 words left me broken. All i wanted was to hear those words from either of my parents.

"I have to go. Carter, Maya is picking you up after school. Bye Kara." I said and was about to get my stuff, but my mother stopped me.

"Y/n, Please stay. Just for a moment." She said grabbing my arm. "Sweetheart, you go on." She said to Carter. Carter then left and so did Kara letting us talk.

She led me to her office. She sat down and gestured for me to sit. I sat down. On the couch across from my mother's. "What do you want?" I said coldly

"My Y/n, all grown up." She said making me scoff. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry for leaving you. Please forgive me" She said with a sad tone

"How can i, mom?" My voice broke the second i said 'mom'. A few tears slipped from my eyes. "You left me after i was born. You were never there." Tears were now streaming down my face

"I know. And i hated myself for that. I should've stayed, i should've been there for all of your birthdays, your graduations, everything. If i could take everything back, i would. I shouldn't have left." She said with tears in her eyes.

"Then why did you?" I asked looking down on the floor.

"Because i was scared. I wasn't ready for a child. I regretted putting my career first. I should've put my family first, i should've put you first." She said as a tear fell from her eyes. "Please forgive me"

"I need time." I said then got up. I got my things and left my mother in her office with tears in her eyes.
