Y/n's pov:

It's been a month after talking to my mother. I couldn't forgive her that fast. She left me my whole life.

Kara was assigned to take care of Carter on Mondays and Thursdays. Carter said our mom knew i was busy with work and that i couldn't take care of Carter the same time.

Kara and i started talking and became friends.

"Miss Grant?" My assistant, Abi knocked on the door frame of my office then walked in. "Miss Rivera is here. Should i let her in?"

I sat up straight then sighed. "Let her in." Abi nodded her head then left the room. Moments later Maya walked in.

"Miss Rivera. What can i do for you?" I asked making eye contact with her. She laughed in response.

"Miss Rivera? That's new." She said walking up to my desk then sat down on one of the chairs. "I was hoping if i could pick Carter up. And i was hoping you can come with us, and we could talk about us."

I frowned "there is no 'us' anymore Maya. And no you can not pick Carter up. My mother's assistant is picking him up." I said in a stern tone.

"Y/n, please. I just want to talk to you about our past. I miss you, i can't sleep without you, i can't eat without you. I love you. And i realized that i can't live without." She said standing up from her seat.

"You should've thought about that before cheating on me." I said looking at my laptop. "Miss Rivera i am sorry, but i have a busy schedule at the moment. I can not talk to you about the past we went through." I said standing up from my seat.

Maya then nodded in response then left.

Kara's pov:

I picked Carter up from his school. We were almost at CatCo when i noticed, Carter had a sad look.

"Hey, you okay?" I said looking at him with a small frown. He shook his head a little bit "what's bothering you?"

"It's Y/n. She's barely talking to me and even doesn't let Maya in her house. Maybe i did something wrong."

"Carter, for all i know is that you did nothing wrong. Your sister's just busy with work." I said trying to comfort him. "If you don't mind me asking. Who's Maya?"

"Maya's her girlfriend. But these last few months something's changed. Y/n and Maya don't hug each other out tell each other they love them. And Maya usually spends the weekend staying at Y/n's house with me and her." Carter explained looking down on the floor.

"Well, how about we go get ice cream or go to the arcade?" I offered and he gave me a smile then nodded.

We got to the arcade and played some games. Then after that we went to get ice cream.

"Thank you, Kara." Carter said as i gave him his ice cream. I got a text on my phone. I checked and it was Miss Grant.

"Okay. You're mom just texted and said we have to go back to CatCo." I said and he nodded in response.

We got to CatCo and Miss Grant wanted to spend time with Carter. I thought of what Carter said about his sister, so i texted her.

"Hey, Carter's a bit sad."

"Why? What's wrong? What happened?"

"He said that there's something going on with you and Maya and he thinks that he did something wrong."

"How do you know about Maya?"

"He told me about her."

"I think it's best if we talk in person. I'll have one of my driver's pick you and Carter up around 9."

The conversation ended when Miss Grant told me to book a place for her and Carter to eat lunch.
