Cat's pov:

I walked to my balcony to see Supergirl sitting on the couch facing the city.

"I love this city." She exhaled once i walked up next to the railings. "The lights. All the windows. I love that behind every window there's a story. Someone's eating takeout with their boyfriend. Someone's playing board games with their kids. To me, every person in this city is a light. And everytime I've helped one of them... A little bit of their light has become a part of me. I've never been happier than when I've been Supergirl. I know what happened wasn't exactly my fault, my.. my brain was altered. But it brought something inside of me out. That was mean and horrible... What i did to you, Ms. Grant- Oh, please." I then cut her off.

"I've based jumped Mount Kilimanjaro. Do you really think you scared me? Well, okay, yes, you did scare me." I said.

"I know... I scared the whole city. And now I'm so afraid that I'm never gonna win them back." She said.

"Well... If you can't here for me to tell you that everything is going to be okay, i can't do that. It's not that easy." I sighed.

"I know." Her voice trembled.

"Now, I said that it's not going to be easy. But i didn't say it would be impossible. Personally, i don't believe in failure. Not if you get back up and fact the music. It takes time. But it anybody can win this city back... It's you." I stated.

"Can i just sit here for a little while?" She asked.

"Of course." I said.

Y/n's pov:

I knocked on Kara's apartment waiting for her to open. Seconds later the door was opened.

Kara was in a flannel and her Supergirl outfit under along with jeans. "Y/n! Hi. What are you doing here?" She asked stepping aside to let me in.

"I have ice cream." I said handing her a bag filled with all kinds of ice cream. Her jaw dropped once she looked at the ice cream.

"You didn't have to. Also it is way too early for ice cream." She said placing the bag on her counter. I then noticed that she was watching the news about the robbers. I then turned the TV off.

"It is never too early for ice cream. And Alex told me about the public still being afraid of you. So, i thought that would cheer you up." I said.

"Thank you." She smiled. "Also.. i never got to talk to you about the night in the Club." She whispered. "I didn't mean it... Actually.. i did." She said.

I looked at her with shock but inside i was dancing. "I really like you, Y/n. You've always been in my mind even in times when things are serious. And when you're with me. I feel complete. I told Alex about my feelings towards you that I'm confused why I'm feeling that way. And she's convinced that i like you. It took me a long time to accept it, but i guess the Red Kryptonite made me realize it." She said.

"Kara.." i said before getting cut off.

"I know. I know, that you don't like me back but i really needed to get that off my chest. And i know i don't have a chance with you- Kara." I cut her off this time.

"What makes you think you don't have a chance? I've accepted my feelings towards you a long time ago. I like you too, Kara. You are sweet, caring, funny and brave. You're the most amazing person I've ever met." I said.

(These might sound cringe I'm sorry i don't really know how to confess to people😭)

Kara looked at me with wide eyes. "You know, all of Cat's children fell inlove with you." I joked making both of us laugh.

"So, what do we do now?" She asked.

"Noonan's. 7 pm. If you're not busy." I said. She nodded as her face turned red. I laughed and left.

Kara's pov:

My whole day just got a lot better. Is that what Alex meant about me being blind? Or that we'll figure it out? I was then called to the DEO and was met with military soldiers.

"Major Lane?" I said once i saw Lucy.

"What are you doing here?" Alex asked.

"She's with me." A male voice said. We turned around to see a man in a uniform.

"And who are you?" Alex asked.

"Colonel James Harper. United States Marines Corps." He introduced.

"The Pentagon ordered a joint task force to investigate J'onn J'onzz's infiltration of this agency." Lucy said.

"They wanna know what he's done and who knew about it. So everyone here will be interviewed. All activities all communications scrutinized." The Colonel said.

"Sounds like a witch hunt." Alex said.

"This is an internal investigation done by the book to identify, remove, and ultimately prosecute enemies of the state." He explained.

"And you're here as our legal counsel to protect our civil rights?" I asked.

"She's here because this investigation required someone familiar with the players, someone the government could trust to help cut through the subterfuge." The Colonel said.

"I'm concerned everyone here has been compromised by him. You should be, too." Lucy spoke.

"Which is why we need to figure out who knew what when, and uncover anything J'onn J'onzz and his confederates were planning. We'll deal with the question of your loyalties later. Take the marathon to the interrogation room. We start with him." He ordered then left.
