カラス
"How did your father react to the USJ incident?" Karasu looked over at Todoroki after Cementos had left their classroom. It was still so weird to have him as their modern literature teacher- although his voice did make readings much more dramatic to listen to.
"He hasn't mentioned it to me at all, actually." Todoroki looked at her as he shut his notebook and set his pen down. "We don't talk much outside of him giving me orders or telling me I don't train enough."
She frowned slightly, but decided not to push that topic at the moment. "I had to basically convince Hawks not to pull me out of UA, surprisingly. Well- that's a smidge of an exaggeration. He did mention it a couple times, though."
"Seriously?" Kirishima asked as students began congregating around the classroom to talk. "He's a pro, isn't he used to that kind of thing? Especially as number three."
"He can go a little crazy about my safety, being my older brother and all." she admitted, rubbing the back of her neck with an awkward smile. "Because he had to petition the courts for custody of me, they can choose to take a closer look at what happens to me under his care." She pushed her braid back to hang between her wings. "Because of Recovery Girl there was nothing to be worried about, obviously, and him being the number three hero helps a lot, but if I got severely brutalised every other day there's a chance I could get sent back to my mom or even into the system. They take my opinion into account, of course, but it isn't the end all be all factor."
"You wouldn't want to live with your mom?" Kirishima sounded surprised, frowning as he looked down at her.
"Uh, no. My parents are a... whole thing. Hawks and I don't really talk about it." Karasu shrugged awkwardly, picking at the edge of her desk with both hands. "Ever. With anyone."
Before Kirishima could press the questions further, Uraraka provided an extremely welcome, but surprising, distraction.
"Let's do our best!" she shouted excitedly, turning and repeating herself to other students even louder. Clearly she was pumped for the Sports Festival.
Karasu smiled, it felt nice to be in a place where she could be excited about this kind of thing with other people. Specifically other people her age, instead of the hired sidekicks who felt the need to agree with her to remain in Hawks' good graces.
"Uh, you look kind of insane." Kirishima said to Uraraka, taking a wary step back.
"Alright. Let's all get down to lunch." Karasu stifled a laugh as she stood up from her desk. She stuck close to Todoroki as the class filed out, she and Yaoyorozu were the only two who ever really talked to him, his dad scared most of the students and Todoroki's frequent attitude didn't exactly help that much, so hanging near him gave her an out for any conversations about her brother.
"Hey! Wait up! I have a question! Any chance I can do some training at your family's facility?" Karasu asked as hurried to walk alongside Todoroki, grabbing the sleeve of his jacket to get him to slow his pace so they would walk in sync with each other. "To train for the Sports Festival."
"Why? Doesn't your brother have one at your house?" Todoroki glanced at her, his hands shoved into his pockets to pull his sleeve from her loose grasp.
"Yes, but he keeps bothering me about my hips and hollow bones and taking immaculate care of my wings and how I need to be so careful and all that, because of the USJ thing and my stupid injuries. I wanna be able to train without being told 'careful!' every nine seconds. Careful! won't help me have a chance in the sports festival." She made a face, tugging at the end of her braid. "So? Would it be alright if I trained a bit at your house with you?"
