Karasu scribbled some notes into her calculus notebook, looking between them and her homework as she sat at the coffee table in the UA common room.

Writing had gotten much easier for her, but she still struggled with her penmanship. Thankfully the teachers were still willing to accommodate her with digital worksheets if she felt she needed them. Math was the only subject she didn't genuinely feel the need for it, because numbers were numbers.

"Need any help?" Yayurozu asked as she sat across the table from her.

"Not at the moment- I might, soon, if I don't grasp a couple of these..." she looked at their calculus book and nodded. "Got it. I carry the 1 for X. Ah-may-zing." She kept filling out her homework. "Anything I can help you with, Yaomomo?"

"Um... Aizawa just said we shouldn't leave either you or Todoroki unattended for the time being." Yayurozu admitted sheepishly. "Everyone else is busy and I saw you sitting here alone, so..."

"Ah." Karasu glanced up at her. So Hawks briefed Aizawa about the whole thing... I shouldn't be surprised. "Well. Feel free to hang out and get caught up with any work you need to do while I do, 'cause that is my plan for the next few hours." She pulled her phone out, seeing a text from Todoroki that said 'we need to find this villain fast... Midoriya is hanging on me like a gnat'.

'Yayurozu just found me... feel like I lucked out between the two of them haha. Sucks that secret makeouts are gonna be hard until we get her 😒' was her reply back to him. "I'll need to run an errand soon, to get some wires for my science project, over to Power Loader's office."

"Oh! Good!" Yayurozu perked up slightly, sitting up straighter. "I could definitely get a few things for my own project."

"What are you doing? I'm configuring a switch board that has different combo options to get different results from the light bulbs they're attached to." Karasu turned back to her homework and took a breath, writing out her work on a couple more equations. She was at least mostly sure she was right on one, and completely sure on the other.

When she had finished four or five more equations- she had finished her calculus homework. She slid it into her folder and set that on top of her closed notebook.

Karasu sat back slightly and looked up out the window to the sky.

I haven't called Mom since she left Keigo's agency... I had told her I would think about it so it isn't like I'm breaking my word, but I don't know what to do... I should talk to Keigo about it, and Shoto. Hopefully they can help me through my decision paralysis.

She stood up and looked at Yayurozu. "Alright. You ready to head over to Power Loader's office?"

"Yes!" Yayurozu jumped to her feet happily, a grin on her face.

She's so excited to be useful. I should try to hang out with her more once Shoto and I don't have assigned babysitters. Karasu picked up her bag and smiled slightly as she slung it across her shoulders. "Let's fly." She said automatically as she walked along with Yayurozu out of the dorm building, still lost in her own thoughts.

"You have quite a serious look on your face. Anything I can help with?" Yayurozu offered genuinely.

"Not really. Just some... family drama. Seems like that's not going to stop for me for a little while." Karasu rubbed the back of her neck and let out a deep sigh. "I'm not used to anyone by Keigo, so it's odd to navigate all of this."

"I'd imagine suddenly seeing your mother again after all these years is quite... shocking." Yayurozu said gently. "I can only imagine."

"I have to decide if I want to maintain contact with her. I don't... know yet. I'm going to talk to Keigo about it, and Shoto." But I don't know if he can really understand this- despite everything that's happened he loves his mother and his mother loves him. Mine willingly left me. Keigo is really the only person who can understand what that feels like.
