Birds of a Feather

We all know he's um... crazy.

          Karasu gripped her staff tightly as soon as she got into the border of the fighting grounds, staring across the space from Tokoyami. She didn't hate him, or harbour any ill will towards him- but she did want to kick his ass right now.

"Begin!" Present Mic shouted excitedly from his booth above the stands.

Dark Shadow immediately came shooting for her. Karasu jumped up- flying above Dark Shadow. He followed after her- but Tokoyami didn't move a muscle. She guessed it was a combination of mental suggestions on Tokoyami's part and Dark Shadow having its own will.

"Interesting." Her eyes narrowed as she dove directly towards him. There was a moment where Tokoyami looked surprised before Dark Shadow dove after her. She dodged being hit by the shadow, smacking Tokoyami as she swooped by him. Dark Shadow came to a stop just above Tokoyami and began apologising for almost hitting his master. So Dark Shadow did have his own will. She could work around that. She could exploit that.

Dark Shadow lunged for her again, and she swung around the edge of the border.

"I wonder how far you can go." Karasu mused, glancing back at Tokoyami. He still had his hands in his pockets, he almost looked bored. He hadn't moved except for that light hit she'd gotten on him. That pissed her off. She spread her wings and leapt into the air. Dark Shadow followed her, but once she got just high enough- he stopped, clawing up at her and shouting.

"Get back down here! I'll rip you to shreds! You can't beat us!" Dark Shadow was screaming.

Karasu smiled slightly, her wings beating rapidly to keep her in place. That was her chance. With one large beat of her wings, she dove herself directly downwards and closed her wingspan. She was falling faster than Dark Shadow could chase her.

"What-!" Tokoyami reacted too late as well, she opened her wings again and swooped around and landed behind him. She locked his arms back, folding her hands behind his head.

"Give up, because I am prepared to drag you out of bounds." Karasu told him, holding him easily as he struggled against her grip.

"No!" he shouted furiously, and Dark Shadow came swooping towards them.

She brought her wings up, Dark Shadow bounced off of them. So he was a solid mass. Fascinating. "My wings are indestructible. I'm not giving you another chance."

"I'll never give up!" he roared furiously, still struggling in her grasp.

"Then you asked for this." Karasu took a deep breath, and focused her gaze on Tokoyami.

His pupils began to swirl and he stumbled to the ground as she let go of him. "I can't concentrate! I can't think! What are you doing?!" he shouted.

"Perfect." she murmured with a smirk. Even Dark Shadow looked confused on what to do- and more importantly, he wasn't attacking her.

"I won't... let you..." Tokoyami struggled to speak as Karasu grabbed the back of his collar.

"Can't stop me, either." She dragged him to the edge and basically tossed him onto the grass outside the edge of the arena. "You did really well, though. Dark Shadow is formidable."

"Fumikage Tokoyami is out of bounds!" Midnight exclaimed. "Karasu Hawks wins this match!"

Karasu sighed heavily in relief. She had something to prove to everyone around her- and especially to Hawks. I still hate that last name, he should've let me pick one.

"What was that!" Tokoyami followed her furiously after she walked past him and let the effect dissipate.

"My quirk has a secondary ability called frenzy," she explained as she glanced at him. "It's basically extreme mental chaos. I don't use it often for obvious reasons- but it serves its purposes."
