10 years later

My life.... I don't even know anymore.
Ever since I escaped my homelands, I've been nothing but an aimless soul.

When I washed ashore to Liyue harbor, I was taken in by some fishermen and sheltered. My wounds were tended to and the socket of my missing arm was mended. I spent my time in one of the men's house until I could get back on my feet again.

I decided it was best to just accept my life here, try and get a job and made an earning base to stabilize myself.

With the loss of my entire arm, I couldn't really fix myself any proper line of work other than manual labor. Not even the fishermen who rescued me could help me with much. I was as useful as the elderly who'd sit and reminisce together by the coast.

Still, if minimal labor was what I had then I'd take all my chances with it. It still astonishes me that I stabilized this line of work for 10 years....and yet.

I never forgot.

The betrayal of my ruler, the loss of my home and my fighting spirit, what was once the key of pointing the nation to a brighter future....all shattered by the very being who ruled it.

No matter how much time passes, I know that whatever is happening there is nothing but oppression. The people would do their best just to please the Shogun just to survive her wrath.

The trade routes are entirely closed off except one that comes and goes. That ship along is packed to the brim with rumors of the state of the nation.

Civil wars, rebellions, the uproar of the Tri-Commissions. I know for a fact to believe all of these... knowing the things I saw there.

But what am I going to do with this information? I've long since given up the sword, am I worthy of trying to go back? What would I even do if I did?

These thoughts plagued me in all my years here but I can't say things have been all that bad since then.

The people of Liyue are as kind and humble as my homeland, the ones I've met thus far.

And that's saying a lot. Not only have I made such bonds with the working network within the harbor. Many people from the city itself have had their kindness and support shone upon me.

There's one girl named Xiangling, who's the daughter of the man owning the top restaurant in Liyue, his magical skill at the art of food has been handed down to his daughter as much. She'd often show up and meet me while carrying crates on and off ships, offer me her snacks, ask my opinion on most of her delicacies.

Then there's the unexpected batch of friends I've made that have gone under the radar of the people around me.

The Yuheng of the Liyue Qixing, who occasionally comes and goes to gather information about the people I work with and meet, it's quite absurd when you think about it, having ties with the entire government of Liyue. Yet she considers our relationship on friendlier terms than just a social worker.

But none of this is as absurd as being pestered by the owner of a funeral parlor, a frail looking girl named Hu Tao who's been at my throat for my certain...enhancement

"Cog! There you are!" She sang.

Ah yes, 'Cog'. A name handed down to me by the people mainly due to two reasons.
