CHAPTER 008
| Deal Date pt.1Serenity tried completing her conversation with Cyrus, but she found herself being constantly ignored by him as he avoided her every time she came across him, 'today wasn't my lucky day, I guess she thought to herself
"Those asswipes had to meddle in between!" She muttered in frustration, her brows furrowing as she clenched her fists. Just as she was about to let out a frustrated sigh, she felt a hand gently rest on her shoulder. Turning around, her eyes narrowed to see who had the audacity to interrupt her thoughts.
"You're not talking about us, are you?" Jasper playfully asked, a mischievous glint in his eyes. Serenity shot him a quick glare, yanking his hand away from her shoulder.
"Yes, I sure am," she replied curtly, her tone laced with annoyance.
Jasper's playful expression shifted slightly, concern flickering across his face. "You're so cold, Serenity. Don't look so down. I'll drop you home," he offered.
She shook her head, determined. "No," Serenity retorted firmly.
Jasper flashed a lopsided grin. "I don't take 'no' as an answer. Let's go," he insisted, his eyes twinkling with determination. Serenity reluctantly agreed, realizing it was futile to argue further. She got into the car, Jasper taking the driver's seat, and they began their ride to her place.
As they arrived at the imposing mansion, Serenity turned to Jasper, her expression hardened. "Why are you coming in?" she asked, her voice tinged with suspicion.
"I'm bored", Jasper replied nonchalantly,
Serenity scoffed, "Get lost" she retorted, her tone cutting.
Jasper, however, remained undeterred. "Oh, come on, Serenity" he persisted, Serenity ignored him letting him do as he pleases.
As they walked inside, Jasper greeted Serenity's stepmother, Mrs Victoria, with a charming smile who seemed to be heading out, "Hello Madame. It's so nice to see you here," he greeted, his tone laced with familiarity.
Mrs Victoria's eyes lit up in recognition. "Jasper! It's been a while. Are you here to see Luca?" she inquired
"No, I came with Serenity," Jasper clarified, Mrs. Victoria nodded, her eyes looking at Serenity with contempt, "Enjoy yourselves," she said, gesturing for them to continue.
Jasper followed Serenity to her room, he plopped on the spacious bed, "Your room smells nice I'm getting all giddy it does feel like a girl's room" he uttered releasing giggles,
Serenity tiredly put her bag down "Cut your crap, it's not your first time here" she replied
Rummaging through the huge closet filled neatly with outfits, Jasper got up from the bed as a particular dress caught his eye, "Wear this. It'd look good on you," he urged, holding up a delicate pastel purple and white dress.
"I'm not a middle school girl trying to impress her crush. I'm just going out with Aiden. What's there to wear such a funky dress?" Serenity protested a hint of defiance in her voice.
Jasper rolled his eyes, a playful smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. "Ugh, you don't know a thing about guys. Take my advice and wear this," he insisted, holding up the dress once more.
"Fine, whatever," Serenity relented, begrudgingly slipping into the feminine attire Jasper had chosen for her. She couldn't help but admit, though grudgingly, that the dress did enhance her features.
"You look better than I thought. Good makeup and a dress do wonders," Jasper remarked, a hint of genuine surprise in his voice.
"I'm pretty, I know. No need for flattery, old man," Serenity teased, a self-assured smile gracing her lips.
"I don't look old!" Jasper protested, his tone filled with mock indignation.
Serenity's eyes flickered mischievously to Jasper's hair as she ran her slender fingers through his hair, "Your hair says otherwise," she quipped, a playful smirk curling her lips.
Jasper's lip parted as his cheeks flushed red, "You dumb bitch, it's hair dye! Besides, it's not even white, it's silver," Jasper shot back, his tone tinged with exasperation.
Serenity's phone buzzed with a text, and she glanced down to read it. "Looks like Aiden's here," she announced, her voice tinged with excitement.
Jasper and Serenity descended the steps together, spotting Aiden leaning casually against his car. His hair was neatly styled, and he donned a crisp white shirt paired with sleek black pants, holding a jacket and a bouquet in his hands.
"Looks like someone dolled him up" Jasper remarked with a teasing tone, a playful grin stretching across his face.
Serenity chuckled lightly, "Aiden, what's with the flower bouquet? You're going all out," she commented, a playful twinkle in her eyes.
Aiden grinned, his gaze locked on Serenity. "You too, it looks like you made a bit of an effort to dress up," he said, his voice filled with genuine admiration.
"What're you doing here, Jasper?" Aiden inquired, a hint of curiosity in his voice.
"Nothing much, helping out my dense friend" Jasper replied,
"Don't stay here too long, Jasper. Go home," Serenity interjected, her voice laced with a mix of exasperation and concern.
"Sure, Madam. Enjoy your date," Jasper replied, a knowing smile dancing on his lips. He turned on his heel, making his way back towards the car, leaving Serenity and Aiden alone.
As they settled into the car, Serenity got her phone out to check for any texts from Cyrus as she left him a message, but she received no response. The audacity of him to leave her on seen.
Frustrated, Serenity slid her phone into her handbag.
Her lips curved into a subtle smile, a mask concealing her inner turmoil. She turned towards Aiden whose eyes were focused on the road, "Before we head there, Aiden, I would like to make a quick stop at a café. I want to grab a cup of coffee."
Her request was met with a perplexed expression from Aiden, being someone close to her for years he was well aware that Serenity was not particularly fond of coffee. Nevertheless, he gave her a nod in approval.
As they arrived at a quaint café tucked away in a side street,
The quaint café buzzed with activity as people chatted over steaming cups of coffee and the tantalizing aroma of freshly baked pastries filled the air. They entered the cafe, as many eyes turned to them.
Aiden, with his striking good looks and his charm effortlessly draws people in.
The pair found an empty table near the window, and Aiden pulled out a chair for Serenity, she took her seat,
Serenity's eyes darted around the room. It didn't take long for her to spot the young man behind the counter, dressed in a simple apron, brewing coffee from the machine with a worn-out yet the prettiest face. A smirk made its way onto her lips.
"Caught you"
