-CHAPTER 003
| Elysian Delight, pt. 1

"Serenity is eliminated from the game!" The coach announced as everyone from class A cheered for Luca who threw the ball before Aiden could react Cyrus rushed towards her side

"Are you alright?" Cyrus asked, his voice laced with concern

Serenity winced, clutching her throbbing knee. "I'll manage," she replied through gritted teeth. "Let's get to the nurse's room," Cyrus suggested as he helped her get up supporting her with one arm on his shoulder

They hurriedly made their way to the nearby nurse's room, hoping for a swift remedy to Serenity's injury. To their dismay, the room was vacant, devoid of any medical personnel. Cyrus scanned the room and noticed a neatly arranged first-aid kit on the counter.

"The nurse isn't here," he murmured, his brows furrowing. "But we can at least find something to treat your knee."

Serenity watched Cyrus's determined expression. "You don't have to do this, you know," she said trying to sound as soft as possible.

Cyrus didn't meet her gaze, instead focusing on rummaging through the first-aid kit. "I don't mind. Besides, it's the least I can do after you saved me out there."

He carefully selected the necessary supplies and approached Serenity, his hands gentle as he began to bandage her injured knee.

Serenity admires his attention to detail and the tenderness he shows in his actions. "The bruise on your forehead looks pretty bad," she remarks.

Cyrus remains silent as he finishes tending to her wound, stepping back to finally meet her eyes. "Please refrain from doing something like that again."

Surprised, Serenity asks, "Do what?"

"You don't need to bother yourself with my problems or with me. I can take care of them on my own. I can't afford to be indebted to anyone anymore."

Serenity gazes at Cyrus, noticing his usual cold demeanor even after enduring such pain.

After making his statement, Cyrus exits the room without sparing her a glance. Serenity lies down on the bed, closing her eyes briefly, finding solace in the calm breeze flowing through the swaying curtains. However, her tranquility is interrupted by a familiar voice.

"You're fucking weak," the voice echoes in the room. Serenity remains on the bed, not bothering to get up.

'of course it's gotta be this motherfucker Luca' she thought to herself as she opened her eyes

"Would I earn bonus points if I pretended to care?" she responds in a bored tone.

Luca stands beside her bed, clenching his fists. "Why did you take the hit for that guy? Trying to be a hero or something?"

Serenity scoffs, "None of your damn business," she retorts.

"It is my business. You don't even realize that you're embarrassing yourself, not to mention being an embarrassment to the Sinclair house," he grumbles. Serenity reaches her limit with his behavior and stands up from the bed, running her fingers through her hair in frustration.

"So what? What does that have to do with you? You're not even a Sinclair. Stop trying to associate yourself with me in any way," she firmly states.

Knowing she struck a nerve, Luca looks furious. "Loser," he snaps before Aiden suddenly appears at the door frame of the room. He walks towards Serenity, ignoring Luca.

"Serenity, are you okay?" he asks, examining her injury with concern.

"Doing fine I guess, nothing I can't handle" she replied, as Luca left the room, she sighed in relief
