CHAPTER 021
| First Rain, pt.4Cyrus walked through the supermarket, still in his worn uniform, contemplating dinner for Serenity. 'Hm, should I get chicken for her protein intake or opt for seafood, would she like seafood though?' His usual dinner or lunch were cup noodles or sandwiches between jobs.
Knowing Serenity she'd not eat anything at all unless served to her on her plate or she'd mess up the whole kitchen in an attempt to cease her boredom by cooking rather burning something.
As he scanned the aisles, Cyrus grappled with the realization, "I don't know her likes and dislikes, what food she eats, and what she's allergic to. There's so much I don't know about her, or more accurately, I've never tried to know," he admitted to himself.
"Uhm, excuse me?" A brunette girl around his age interrupted his thoughts. Cyrus turned to see her, her cart full of groceries, as a tint blush was visible on her cheeks, she was flustered, his physique looked good seeing his back, and his face was gorgeous, he had pretty soft facial feature with a well built lean body.
"Yes?" he replied awkwardly.
"You've been spacing out. Do you need some help?" the girl asked,
"I have to cook dinner for a person staying over at my place. I'm contemplating a nutritious and healthy meal" Cyrus explained,
'he's so soft spoken, his voice is deep and sweet' she thought to herself,
"I'd recommend a quinoa and chicken stir-fry. It's wholesome and versatile, both nutritious and satisfying. Add some roasted vegetables on the side for extra nutrients and flavor," the girl suggested.
"I'll do that. Thank you for the suggestion," Cyrus acknowledged giving her a small smile in return for her kindness, the girl was starstruck, her lips parted,
"Wait, I'd like to ask something. Is she your girlfriend?" the girl uttered,
Cyrus blinked his eyes and paused for a moment, "No," he answered
"So is that woman someone close to you?" the girl pressed.
"She is," Cyrus admitted without any second thoughts.
"Can I get your number? I don't mean anything. You seem like a good person," the girl whose name he did not know asked with pleasing eyes,
"I appreciate your kindness, though I must decline your offer. Have a good day," Cyrus politely declined, as he walked up to the cashier.
When a voice halted him in his steps, it was Luca, Cyrus recognised him at a glance because he had a unique face which was quite similar to Serenity's,
"Amazing, Grey! Looks like you're pretty popular with girls, or do you go around charming them so they'd take pity on you and overlook your poverty?" Luca taunted clasping his hands,
"Who?" Cyrus asked pretending not to know him,
"Don't play dumb with me, you know very well who I am," Luca retorted, visibly annoyed.
"Stalking is a crime if you don't know; should I report you, or will you be smart enough to leave me alone?" Cyrus asserted, going on his own way
Luca put his hand on his shoulder, stopping him from walking further, "You've always been this cunning little bitch type of guy,"
"And you've always been a cheeky little rat," Cyrus retorted, yanking his hand away and waiting with a stoic expression for the cashier to pack up his grocery.
"Come with me," Luca demanded.
"What do you want?" Cyrus asked annoyed, once the cashier handed him his grocery bag after he paid for it. Luca grabbed his wrist and took him to the cafe beside the supermarket.
