CHAPTER 026
| Moonstruck

Serenity trudged wearily back to her mansion, the guards casting skeptical glances at her disheveled appearance before reluctantly allowing her entry, when she reached the main gate, the guard informed her of the family gathering being held in the mansion.

Serenity cursed under her breath, it was sure an unlucky day.

To avoid being caught by her stepmother or father Serenity decided to enter through the backdoor of the mansion, struggling with the password, she grumbled to herself, "I could've sworn it was one, two, three, four. I set it myself!"

Calling Luca, she waited impatiently as the phone rang. When he finally answered, she wasted no time. "Where are you?"

"At home," Luca replied casually.

"Come to the back door. Now," Serenity ordered, the urgency evident in her tone.

Luca complied, approaching the backdoor where Serenity's silhouette could be seen through the glass. She banged on the huge glass window repeatedly,"Hey, what's the password? This isn't opening!" She spoke on the call,

"Why should I tell you?" Luca retorted, standing infront of her,

"Urgh, this bas—I mean, you should tell me. I can't go through the main entrance like this," Serenity forced politeness through gritted teeth. Luca chuckled it was funny seeing her expressions from the other side and her contradicting forced polite voice on the call,

"Yeah, you look homeless," Luca remarked bluntly.

"Luca, password?" Serenity pressed, her patience waning.

"Alright, I'll tell you, but there are conditions" Luca relented, he paused, "What conditions?" Serenity inquired warily.

"First, you'll humbly accept my apology and apologize for leaving home without a word" he stated, "Second, you will not ignore me under any circumstances," he added,

Serenity rubbed her temples, "Both of them are quite difficu—"

"Then we're through, I'm leaving", Luca turned away to leave when she halted him, she hesitated before reluctantly agreeing, "Alright, I'll accept it, just hurry up",

Luca flashed a victorious smile, "The password's my birthday," he informed,

"Oh, your birthday. Didn't know you were such a simpleton," Serenity remarked,

"You're the one to talk. Who sets a dumb password like one, two, three, four? What are you, a kid?" Luca argued, Serenity stood there staring at him, Luca arched a brow, "What now?" He questioned,

"By the way, what's your birthda—",

Luca had an urge to smack himself, how can he be dense enough to think that she'd remember his birthday? He heaved a sigh in defeat, 'there's no winning with her' he thought before saying, "0312",

As she entered, Luca couldn't resist taking another jab, "That guy kicked you out cold, didn't he? Seems like he thought of your broke ass as nothing more than a nuisance."

Ignoring him, Serenity marched towards her room, Luca trailing behind reminded her, "What did we agree on? You wouldn't ignore me."

"What kinda agreement are you babbling about? Where's your proof?" Serenity challenged.

"A gentleman's agreement is a deal which is not secured by documentation, legal actions, or escrow. It relies upon the honour of the parties for its fulfilment. A man's word is his—," Luca began, but Serenity cut him off, slamming the door in his face.
