IV. Lecturette (35 minutes)
The Changing Nature of Work

Processing Questions:
After the lecture, ask the learners the following questions:

1.What are the five global trends that affect the global workforce? How can knowing them help you as a Grade 12 student?

The five global trends that affect the global workforce are Technology, Outsourcing, Changing worker's attitude and values, Demographics and diversity, and Globalization. As a grade 12 student knowing them help me to effectively cope with emerging workplace learning trends to become active learner to solve problems in everyday because trends are moving out into the future, so we have to keep seizing the future trends in workplace learning. Also, knowing them, we can determine what kind of country we have and what possible careers we can get today and in the future.

2.How will lifelong learning help you succeed in life and career?

Lifelong learning help me to be responsive to change, to be inquiring and reflective in practices. And to have the voluntary and self-motivated pursuit of personal and career development that would help me to grow as an individual. It will help me succeed in life and career because it will lead me to appreciate new ideas and seek new ways of learning, and understanding the world and people around me.

3.Do you agree with Heraclitus when he said, "the only thing that is constant is Change"? Explain.

Yes, it is impossible to stop time, it won't be able to turn around. When a change takes place gradually throughout time, it tends to change over and over again. We must change in order to improve, develop personally, and learn. Changes must occur whether they are brought on by the unexpected turns and twists of life or by the regular occurrences of the universe because even relationships, circumstances, and feelings change.

4.How will you implement the seven C's of lifelong skills in your life and career?

These skills are relevant in my lifelong career. I am confident that these actions or knowledge will direct and support me in choosing the appropriate path. I also realized that if everyone will follow these guidelines, it will help them to make right decisions. It is not just intended for students like me because by using these seven C's lifelong skills, everyone can benefit from future career that is more fruitful. I will put these skills in practice by comprehending each one and using them in actual situations, internalizing the importance of achieving them, and making sure that what I have learned in school will applied also.

1.How did you feel about the activity?
After the "Guess Who?" game, I feel more motivated to be successful in the future.

2.From what industry or profession do the famous people come from?
The famous people come from diverse range of industry or profession, they are from business industry, culinary, pharmaceutical, and showbiz industry.

3.What do they have in common?
What they have in common is a willingness to learn or adapt to overcome the odds, they also have such strong spirit, perseverance, and determination to achieve their success.

4.What is the relevance of good academic standing to career and life success?
Success in your career and in life depends on having a strong academic record. Particularly, when you're achieving your targeted outcomes. The majority of industries or profession need a particular degree or higher level of education, and of course they always look into your academic history. A strong academic record will provide you a competitive advantage in your chosen field. Your profession and personal success are greatly influenced by your education. Nevertheless, it goes beyond simply having a strong academic record that can help me or us to achieve our dream future career. But there are some instances that even without being academically smart, anyone can succeed if they are well-dedicated and put their hard effort into it.

5.How does this activity help you in your chosen career?
It helps me by "always ask yourself first, why you want to pursue a certain career as you evaluate which choice is right for you?" I need to stay focus on the goal I want to achieve and I must have the willingness to do everything or do the works. Don't let the opinions or expectations of others sway your decision. Ultimately, your career choice is solely yours, because our future depends on us.
