Situation No. 1:
Mr. Blank is a policeman who witnessed a killing incident to a teenager who allegedly was involved about illegal drugs. In the court scenario, Mr. Blank labelled the child as illegal drug user without strong evidence.
1.Identify the work ethics and values of the policeman.
The work ethics and values of the policeman should include honesty, integrity, objectivity, and fairness. He should have presented only the facts and evidence that he had witnessed, without making any unfounded assumptions or judgments about the teenager's alleged involvement in illegal drugs.

2.What could have been done by the policeman?
The policeman could have refrained from making any unsupported statements about the teenager's drug use, and instead focused on providing a clear and accurate account of the events he had witnessed. He could have also emphasized the importance of due process and the presumption of innocence, and avoided any language or behavior that could be perceived as biased or prejudiced. Additionally, he could have consulted with his superiors or legal experts to ensure that his testimony was based on sound legal principles and procedures.

Situation No. 2:
A bridge was built with substandard materials. The civil engineer gave an estimated budget of 1.5 million to build the bridge but only P750,00.00 was spent for the materials. The other P750,000.00 was shared by the rest of the construction workers.
1.Identify the ethical issue in this situation.
The ethical issue in this situation is that the bridge was built with substandard materials which could compromise the safety of the people who will use it. Additionally, the civil engineer and construction workers involved in the project engaged in unethical behavior by misusing funds and not following ethical standards in their work.

2.What should be done?
The bridge should be inspected by a qualified engineer to determine if it is safe for use. The civil engineer who provided the estimated budget and oversaw the construction of the bridge should be held accountable for their actions. The construction workers who shared the remaining budget should also be held accountable for their actions. The company or organization responsible for the construction of the bridge should review and revise their ethical standards and procedures to ensure that similar incidents do not happen again in the future.

Situation No. 3:
You are a friend of a newly hired accountant in a company XYZ who was offered with a bonus of 1 million and a trip to London for a vacation. But he could not present to the Board of Directors his findings on the discrepancy of the financial report at the company treasurer.
1.Identify the ethical issue in this situation.
The ethical issue in this situation is the accountant's failure to disclose the discrepancy in the financial report to the Board of Directors. This goes against the principle of transparency and honesty in accounting, which is vital in maintaining the integrity of financial reports.

2.What could have been done by the accountant?
Immediately inform the Board of Directors about the discrepancy in the financial report, regardless of the consequences. - Refuse to accept the bonus and vacation offer until the issue has been resolved. - Seek guidance from a supervisor or a professional accounting organization on how to handle the situation. - Conduct an independent investigation to gather more information about the discrepancy and present the findings to the Board of Directors.

Situation No. 4:
A good chief cook was known in your community. Because of his monetary needs, he closed a number of catering booking in just a week. He was successful and gained triple income better than when he was working in the hotel. But unfortunately, he got sick with
tuberculosis. He got so depressed.
1.What work values can you identify in this situation?
The work values that can be identified in this situation are hard work, dedication, and entrepreneurship. The chief cook worked hard and was dedicated to his craft, which led to his success as an entrepreneur.

2.How will you help/advise your good neighbor?
It would be helpful to advise the chief cook to prioritize his health and seek medical attention for his tuberculosis. It would also be beneficial to seek financial assistance or support from the community to help alleviate his monetary needs during his illness. Encouraging him to take a break and rest until he recovers would also be a good idea.
