1. Research on the meaning of Philippine folk dance.

The Philippines has a varied range of traditional dances as part of its rich cultural heritage. These folk dances all provide a window into the history of the nation, from the well-known national dance, the Tinikling, which honors the motions of a beloved bird, to dances that represent aspects of day-to-day Philippine life. There are numerous well-known folk dances in the Philippines that have altered and evolved as they have been passed down through the generations. Although a particular dance might be performed slightly differently from one region to the next, its remains true to its roots. Some of the most popular Philippine folk dances from the region are Itik-Itik, Maglalatik, Binasuan, Singkil, Kappa Malong-Malong, Cariñosa, Sayaw sa Bangko, Pandanggo sa Ilaw, Pandanggo Oasiwas, Kuratsa, and Pantomina.

The cultural dances of the Philippines have their origins in several geographical areas that are diverse from one another due to influences from religion and culture. Filipino folk dance has existed for as long as there have been inhabitants of the islands; there is no known "start" to it. In reality, their mythology is full of a wide variety of deities who required to be appeased, pleaded with, or honored for various natural occurrences like rain and harvests. Many of these celebrations continue to include traditional dances from long ago that are still performed in tribal-era attire. Many traditional dances were created to express gratitude to the gods for agrarian and natural events. The dances are still done today at weddings and birth celebrations as well as festivals and memorials commemorating past military achievements. Traditional dances from the Philippines' tribal era are still performed at several contemporary folk dance festivals. These folk dances all provide a window into the history of the nation.

Many traditional dances were designed to thank the gods for natural and agricultural events, such as rain and harvests. The dances were performed during festivals and remembrances of past military victories, and still are performed at celebrations of births and weddings in modern times. Many modern folk dance festivals still feature ancient dances performed in costume of the tribal period of the Philippines.

2. Give all the information of cariñosa

The cariñosa is a Philippine dance of colonial-era origin from the Maria Clara suite of Philippine folk dances, where the fan or handkerchief plays an instrumental role as it places the couple in a romance scenario. During the Spanish colonization of the Philippines, the cariñosa was introduced from Panay Island, where it originated. It shares similarities with several Spanish dances, such as the bolero, and Mexican dances, such as the jarabe tapatio or Mexican hat dance.

According to the book of Francisca Reyes-Aquino, Philippine Folk Dances, Volume 2, there is a different version of the cariñosa in the region of Bicol. Filipino folk dancer and cultural explorer Reyes-Aquino found and recorded Philippine traditional dances including the Cariñosa. There are several variations on the hide-and-seek game in the Bicol region. In the original rendition, the dancers performed the hide-and-seek routine while holding a fan and a handkerchief; in Bicol, however, they utilized two handkerchiefs, each held by two dancers, who performed the motion while pointing their feet forward and raising their hands and handkerchiefs in unison. Even though it is a difficult step, it is still performed in the Bicol Region during celebrations and social gatherings. Since the cariosa is a Spanish dance, it was originally performed with a Maria Clara gown and a barong Tagalog. In order to express their nationalism, Filipinos also wore the patadyong kimono and camisa de chino. For boys, the traditional costume for cariñosa is a barong Tagalog and colorful pants. For women, the traditional attire for cariñosa is a kimona or a dress of the Visayan people.
