My Reflection in Growth Mindset vs. Fixed Mindset"
March 24, 2023
Growth mindset is the belief that intelligence and abilities can be developed through hard work, dedication, and resilience. It encourages individuals to take risks, learn from mistakes, and strive for improvement. An example of a growth mindset would be someone who is struggling with a difficult task, but instead of giving up, they keep trying and look for ways to improve their skills. They recognize that failure is part of the learning process and use it as an opportunity to grow. On the other hand, fixed mindset is the belief that intelligence and abilities are predetermined at birth and cannot be changed. This type of thinking can lead to a lack of motivation or effort when faced with challenges or failure. An example of this would be a student who believes they are not good at math and will never understand it, no matter how hard they try. This student may give up on math altogether, believing that their lack of success is due to an inherent inability to understand the subject rather than a lack of effort or practice.
For me, having a growth mindset is much better than having a fixed mindset because it allows you to be open to learning new things, trying new strategies, and taking risks. It also helps you become more resilient in the face of failure and setbacks. With a growth mindset, you can learn from your mistakes and use them as opportunities for improvement. This type of thinking encourages creativity and innovation, which can lead to greater success in life. Having a growth mindset can help individuals become more successful in life by allowing them to take risks without fear of failure. It also encourages them to learn from their bad experiences instead of giving up when faced with difficulty. Additionally, it allows people to develop their skills over time by setting goals and working towards them consistently.
In contrast, having a fixed mindset can limit an individual's potential for success because they may not be willing to put in the effort required for growth or improvement due to their beliefs about themselves being predetermined at birth. This type of thinking can lead people away from taking risks which could potentially lead to greater rewards in life such as career advancement or personal development opportunities. Finally, it may also cause people to give up easily when faced with challenges instead of pushing through them in order to reach their goals. Knowing the difference between these two mindsets can help individuals understand how to approach challenges, set goals, and develop their skills. It can also help them recognize when they may need to adjust their approach in order to achieve success.

Discovering the C's"
(Module 2 Reflection)March 24, 2023
I have realized that discovering opportunities and choosing careers can be crucial in identifying our strengths, interests, and values, which can guide us in choosing a fulfilling career. It is essential to explore different career paths, gain experience through internships, volunteer work, and take advantage of educational opportunities. I have realized that when choosing a career, it is important to consider personal preferences, job outlook, salary, and work-life balance. It is also important to be open to learning and adapting to new opportunities and challenges.
I will use the information I acquired from the activities in preparing for my chosen career through researching the industry and job market to gain a better understanding of the skills and qualifications needed for success in my chosen career. Developing a plan to acquire the necessary skills and qualifications, such as taking classes or completing certifications. Staying up-to-date on industry trends, news, and developments so that I can be prepared for any changes or challenges that may arise in my chosen career path.
Therefore, I will strive to improve my communication skills by actively listening, speaking clearly and concisely, and using appropriate language in all situations. I will use logic and reasoning to analyze problems and develop solutions that are creative yet practical. I will build self-confidence through positive self-talk, setting realistic goals for myself, and taking risks when appropriate so that I can reach my full potential as an individual or future professional. And through being compassion, no matter what situation arises or how difficult it may be, I will always strive to show empathy towards others while also maintaining a sense of understanding for their unique perspectives on life's challenges
