Spencer
Was I too harsh on Ivy? When I met her for the first time I thought that she was a mean and cold hearted person. But that has all changed since she revealed her polar side to me. The more I get to know about her...the more I fall for her.
The vibration of my phone catches me off guard. Ugh, dad again.
"Hey, dad. What's up?'' I sigh.
"WHERE ARE YOU? Did you pick her up?!'' He yells over the phone.
"I'm on my way. I'm supposed to meet her at 6.''
As I enter the house, Dad exclaims, "Finally."
Ignoring his comment, I make my way upstairs to change my outfit. I pick a black leather jacket and a pair of jeans from my wardrobe and quickly get dressed. I'll tell Ivy about this stupid thing after I am back. The last thing I want is to be on bad terms with her.
Thinking about it now...I've never been on a "date"...apart from the one's with Ivy..if they can be considered as one. All the drama unfolding at my home while growing up...didn't give me time to. Even before their divorce there were constant fights and arguments at home and that left little room for me having a social life. Trauma has both destroyed and transformed me. I made a firm promise to myself that I would never repeat the same mistakes as my mother. Despite the pain caused by her infidelity, my father remained devoted and loving throughout.
On my way to Georgina's, I decide to make a quick stop at a flower shop to pick up a bouquet for her. Once I arrive at her location, I send her a text to let her know that I've arrived. After waiting for what feels like an eternity, she finally appears, wearing a tacky blue dress with her hair tied in a bun.
"Hey, Spence," she greets me as she opens the car door. Spence? Are you kidding me?
"Hey," I respond solemnly, a hint of disappointment lacing my voice.
As she takes a moment to check her appearance in the rearview mirror, she asks, "How have you been?"
"Same old, you know," I reply, trying to maintain a neutral tone. I continue, "There's this French restaurant about 15 minutes from here—"
"Oh, I love French food," she interjects.
"Okay, that's great," I say, masking my frustration. How the fuck am I supposed to put up with her for the next few hours??
