Spencer
Taking Ivy's hand, I lead her to my apartment. As soon as we step inside, she collapses onto the couch, visibly exhausted. Sensing her need for rest, I head to the bathroom to grab some towels. After finding what I need, I return to the living room where Ivy is already lying down, her eyes closed in peaceful repose.
I gently wrap a warm towel around her shivering shoulders to help her relax. Turning on the fireplace, I ask in a whisper, "Do you want some coffee?" Her eyes flutter open, and she nods in agreement.
I place the mugs on the centre table and take a seat on the couch opposite Ivy.
"So...'' Ivy sighs holding the coffee mug in her hand.
Leaning forward, I take Ivy's hand in mine and look into her eyes. "Look, Ivy...I know you're thinking of all these scenarios in your head, but it was nothing. My dad is supposed to sign a deal with her dad, and he wanted to set me up with her for the sake of it. I had only gone out with her once and I told you about it. She showed up uninvited today. Trust I do despise her. There is nothing going on with us. I'm assuring you this will never happen again." I explain, hoping to alleviate any concerns she may have had. As I speak, I can see the tension in Ivy's face slowly dissipating. "I'm sorry if it caused you any discomfort or confusion, but I want you to know that you're the only one I want to be with...well wanted to be with."
Ivy's eyes dart away from mine, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
I'm sorry for lying to you. I shouldn't have let it get this far. The night I was supposed to tell Jason, he was drunk as hell and wasn't in the state to talk. And I thought I would do it the next day but-
"I showed up at your place and ruined everything?" I add and she nods.
"Spencer I felt these intense emotions while I was with you and although they were wonderful, they also made me feel scared and vulnerable. I had...I...I have fallen for you."
"It's okay, Ivy," I say gently. "I understand that you were scared. Feeling things can be overwhelming, especially when we're not used to it. And as the part where you have "fallen for me," With a tender touch, I drew her closer to me and brushed a gentle kiss on her forehead.
