Spencer
As I sit in my car, I check my phone and notice three missed calls from Georgina and a text asking to hang out. I ignore her message and start driving home. Ryan's words, "Maybe you were so blinded by the good that you forgot to see the bad," keep ringing in my head. I'm disappointed more than sorrowful. If Ivy had just told me the truth, none of this would have happened. It's been 2 weeks since we had that incident. Ivy called and texted me continuously for a week, but for the past two days, she hasn't reached out. It makes sense, given that I've been ignoring all her calls and texts. Despite what happened, I miss her terribly.
I park my car and pick up my bag from the back seat. As I make my way towards the elevator, I see Georgina wearing a black dress waiting for the lift to come down. What is she doing here without any prior notice? She notices me from the other end and gives me a broad smile, but I respond with a neutral one as I walk towards the elevator.
"To what do I owe the pleasure?" I ask Georgina as we stand waiting for the elevator.
"I wanted to hang out with you! I even texted and called you several times," she replies with a hint of over-enthusiasm that irks me.
"Oh, my phone was dead," I reply plainly, trying to keep my cool.
"That's all right, let's go," she said, grabbing hold of my hand as the elevator doors opened and pulling me in with her.
"What are you doing?" I retract my hand, feeling uncomfortable.
"I'm sorry... did I startle you?" Georgina chuckles, trying to play it off.
"By the way, I am running behind on some assignments and I need to complete them.'' Making my disinterest vivid.
"Oh, that's cool. I can help you with your assignments.''
"Uh-
She grabs my arm as the elevator doors open and walks into my apartment as if it's her own. I feel a sense of irritation towards her as she lets go of my arm and heads towards the couch.
"Won't you offer me anything to drink?'' Georgina asks in a mocking tone.
I let out a sigh and ask, "What would you like to drink?"
"Juice will do," She demands as if she's entitled to it. I can feel my frustration growing as she continues to make herself at home, despite my lack of enthusiasm towards her presence.
I hand her the glass of orange juice and she takes it from me, brushing her fingers against mine. It sends a sudden jolt through me and I step back, causing Georgina to spill the juice on her clothes.
"HOLY SHIT.'' She jumps up, shrieking and whining about her spoiled dress. "I just bought this yesterday,'' she adds.
"Too bad,'' I say in response.
"Can I borrow some clothes?" She looks at me and says.
"WHAT??''
Come to think of it, it is your fault.'' She replies.
"Fine. I'll get you some clothes.'' I reply and head towards my room and open my wardrobe and take out an old tee and a pair of track pants of mine and hand it over to Georgina.
"You can change in the room,'' I reply and she nods.
As I wait for her to change, I find myself lost in contemplation, wondering if I should consider giving Ivy another chance. My mind is consumed by thoughts, and I am oblivious to the sound of Georgina stepping out of the room.
"Hey. I'm finished,'' Georgina calls out to me.
"So, you're leaving now, right?" I ask, expecting a yes.
"But I thought I was supposed to help you with your assignments?" She fires back, sitting next to me on the couch. AMAZING. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED. HOW THE FUCK AM I SUPPOSED TO ENTERTAIN THIS ANNOYING WOMAN?
