Ara's punishment was tough. Since Jaemin was still alive, reason unknown to even Jaehyun, she was to be with Jaemin till the day he actually dies. But after he is gone, her role as DEATH would finish and she was to get perished.
Summing it up, she had to watch him die, however that happens, after spending more time with him... which only meant getting more attached to him. And once he was gone, she would be gone too.
Ara was not sure how well she took the words and thoughts she got.
It didn't help her that the Jaemin she was looking after is nothing like the fates had made him out to be. In the file it said he would be the most mean... the most outrageous man alive, again a result for her falling in love with him before.
He was so much better here. Nothing like the file said.
Jaemin: Ara?
The female stopped in her tracks and realized that the entire journey to the hospital was a blur. There he stood. At the reception with a sling for his arm, perfectly fine. Ara's breath hitched as he came closer to her.
Jaemin: Are... Are you okay?
Ara: I should be the one asking you.
Jaemin: I'm fine... but... did you get in trouble?
She lightly looked up to meet his eyes. The worry that laced his words and the concern that filled his eyes, made her feel the butterflies. It always did.
Ara: I'm fine as well... lets get you home.
---
Ara: I would think that you would assume that i was lying about your death.
Jaemin: I did...
Ara: You did?
Unlike every other time Jaemin decided to use the bus back home instead of just using the magic.
Jaemin: But there had to be some explanation to your magic. So i believe you Ara. But... why didn't i die?
She looked away, taking a deep breath.
Ara: I don't know.
Jaemin: For real? Or you can't tell me?
Ara: I actually don't know.
Jaemin: Damn... okay...
He opted to look outside the window. Ara's eyes observed the boy as he placed the side of his head on the window glass.
Jaemin: Summer is coming soon.
The female hummed, looking out as well.
Jaemin: My post as a resident should start soon.
medical school... again something that shouldn't be happening... because he should be dead.
Ara: I'm sure you'll do well.
Jaemin: I hope so too.
---
The house was silent as Jaemin was just sitting on the couch with a blank stare. The house was still a mess but it was fixed by Ara who just flicked her fingers.
Ara: Hungry?
Jaemin: A bit...
His voice was low and soft.
Ara: I'll make some food for you.
He looked up at her as she just stood by the wall, still watching him.
Jaemin: You're still going to stay here?
She didn't want to answer. But she was meant to be perished anyway. Who cares anymore?
Ara: I have to. With you being a random soul, its easier for a death bell to reach you and kill you.
Jaemin: What happens if it does anyway? What's wrong with it?
That question somewhat triggered the female as she leaned off the wall, walking to the kitchen.
Ara: You just don't want to be killed by one. And i already told you i will perish.
Jaemin: There is something else you aren't telling me. How is that any different by me dying of however i am fated to?
He asked following her close behind. Though she stopped abruptly, him bumping into her. Ara turned around, eyes sad, with no energy left in them at this point.
Ara: Because that's what happened to me. You will become the next DEATH. And trust me you don't want to become that.
