Ara could sense what was going wrong and she cursed the fates for it to happen the way it was happening.

Jaemin: So... are we ignore the interaction with the God- or what?

Ara: Yes. We are ignoring that. Rightfully so.

Jaemin: And you still won't tell me that little detail you're hiding?

She let out a tired sigh and Jaemin lowkey panicked, thinking she might snap at him again.

Jaemin: Its okay. Don't tell me. I get it, you have your reasons.

Her eyes visibly softened, which went unnoticed by Jaemin who tried avoiding her eyes.

Ara: I have reasons that could hurt you. Only if it is that you care for me as much I assume you would end up as.

Jaemin: Huh?

Ara: Nothing... just be grateful that by not telling you this it should hurt you less when we part.

Jaemin: When we... part?

She raised her eyebrows at his doubt.

Ara: You didn't think that, now that you didn't die I would stay with you forever, did you?

Heck that's exactly what he thought. But he just shook his head and abruptly stood up.

Jaemin: Its been a tiring day... so am gonna go sleep. Good night.

She muttered the same before he made his way upstairs and lay down on the bed.

Ever since the first day he met Ara he knew there was a pull. First he thought it was just a pull to his death. Then he didn't die and the pull only became stronger.

The longer he let it go unnoticed the more he felt it grow. Ara, in his eyes, was someone he knew. Or he felt that ever since she confessed whatever she did.

...

Days passed by and Jaemin continued with his residency. It was tiring and it only stretched in hours as days went on.

Things between Ara and him weren't getting any better either. He knew he partially was at fault because he really didn't feel like he knew her at all, whereas she seemed to know everything about him. 

There was like a void in between them that neither of them dared to cross. 

She stopped hanging out with him most of the time as well but reassured him that if he was in trouble all he had to do was call out her name and she would come to his protection the very next second.

So he found himself walking by himself back alone that one particular day as well. He was sipping, half heartedly on a juice box he bought from the convenience store. Though he stopped in his steps when he saw a familiar male at the bus station. He was busy looking into his phone while seated alone. 

Though as the bus came in he stood up and made brief eye contact with Jaemin, pausing in his own steps as well.

Bus Driver: Are you getting in, son?

Jeno: Uh... yes, sorry.

And with that he rushed in, not a single word uttered to Jaemin. And honestly he couldn't blame Jeno. It was him who broke the friendship anyway. A friendship that lasted five solid years.

The bus rode away and Jeno made eye contact with Jaemin again till he couldn't anymore. 

With a sigh, Jaemin took a seat at the bus stop, tiredness seemingly only increasing the weight on his tense shoulders. He missed Jeno. But even if he knew that he wouldn't die, he probably would still break friendships with Jeno... the death bells were not a sight for one to see.

???: You look tired.

Jaemin flinched and turned in his seat to see Jaehyun sitting on the other end with a smirk on his face. Jaehyun turned to him and laughed.

Jaehyun: Why are you making that face?

Jaemin: Should i like bow or... like pray... cause like... you're... god?

The idea was still too foreign for him. Heck even Ara's roll was too much to digest and he only seemed to remember that she was DEATH when she fought those monsters.

Jaehyun: The monsters scare you?

Jaemin's eyes widened but he didn't ask the question he was about to. Of course Jaehyun can read his mind. He was god after all.

Bet he heard that too.

Jaehyun: I did.

Jaemin: Why are you here?

Jaehyun: Just do me a favour. 

Jaemin: You... that is the all mighty God wants a favour from me?

Jaehyun: yes Jaemin.

He said with a smile and an eye roll. Then he dropped the easiness, getting serious.

Jaehyun: I need you to go easy on Ara... because i am not allowed to.
