11 - Draining Office Work Pt. 11

He sees the dirty coffee mugs on the counter and the one in Midoriya's hand and assumes he has been taking them back over and over. 

"Hey. You good? I saw him screaming your fucking head off." 

Midoriya finishes the rest of his coffee, already filling it back up again. 

"Yeah, when has he never yelled? It's all he can do, I'm sick and tired of it, I'm staying late again, and I don't think I will be able to get through it without at least fifty cups of coffee pumping through my bloodstream, I haven't slept in my own bed in weeks," 

"And I'm really starting to think I should just live here instead. Its closer to the campus, and I wouldn't need to spend more money on an apartment I'm not even living in, I shouldn't have taken this stupid fucking internship,"

"I thought I was going to get to meet the head of this company. I'm a big fan of all might, and I thought that if i worked my way up I would be able to intern at his side, but here I am, doing whatever this guy says just to stay afloat, the first chance I get I'm going to-" 

Midoriya stops, sipping more coffee. His tired eyes glance away from him before looking back. 

"Sorry, I was rambling..." 

Katsuki snaps back into focus, shaking his head. 

"No, it's fine. I get it, he's such a fucking asshole. I thought this intern shit was going to be a lot different." 

Izuku nods and puts his coffee cup down, smiling a bit. 

"Yeah. So, what do you do when you're not slaving away at your desk?" 

Katsuki is slightly caught off guard by the question, but he keeps his face straight from revealing that.

"I like going to the gym a couple of blocks from here. It isn't as shitty as all the other ones near here." 

Midoriya's eyes brighten up slightly and Katsuki feels like his heart is stopping and starting all at the same time. He almost feels lightheaded. 

"There is one near here? That's nice, I never knew that. Maybe we could go together sometime. If we ever get a break from all this intern bullshit and classes." 

Katsuki's eyes widen and he stares at the green-eyed boy in front of him. Midoriya wants to hang out? Actually hang out? Outside of work? Really? 

"Well, I got to get more work done so I'll see you later." 

He gets one more smile before Midoriya walks past him. 

"Y-Yeah! See you later." 

He looks back and watches him go before looking back at the dirty mugs. He spends some time cleaning them in the break room sink before going back to work. The weeks pass, full of juggling school and the internship, but all of it is a lot better once he gets a better hang of it. 

He spends some time with the bakusquad, and the even better part is that him and Midoriya are growing a lot closer, sharing glances when their shitty boss does shit that annoys them and sharing jokes or talking in the break room when they get a chance.
