Do They Know It's Christmas Time At All

Y/N awoke in his big four poster bed at Malfoy Manor, he had arrived the previous night, the last remnants of his cold having left him thanks to the tender love and care from Daphne.

The door to his room opened and in walked Narcissa.

"Good Morning my Little Cub." Narcissa said as she sat down next to Y/N and pulled him into a hug.

"Good morning Aunt Cissa." Y/N said as he returned the hug.

"So, how was your first half term at school?"

"Um..." Y/N hummed trying to figure out how to explain the events of the past few months. "That's a story best told over chestnuts and an open fire."

"Well, we're all very proud of you, and I know your parents would be too." Narcissa said as she looked at him. He tightened his hug on her as she smiled.

"Aunt Cissa?" Y/N said as Narcissa looked at him and smiled.

"Yes my little cub?"

"What happened to my parents?" Y/N asked as Narcissa's face dropped, she had expected this question, Y/N's natural curiosity was one of the many things she treasured about her nephew, but that didn't mean she was ready for it. She felt a twinge in her heart at the question. Memories of years ago flashed to her mind.

The night her two best friends left their 3 year old son with her as they left to go and fight Fenrir Greyback, the last time she ever heard from them. A tear fell down her cheek.

"They...I don't know Cub, I wish I did, but I don't know." Narcissa said as she wiped the tear away from her cheek. "I just know that I miss them terribly so."

Y/N looked at his auntie and nodded before hugging her.

"I'm sorry." Y/N said as Narcissa broke the hug and tucked his hair behind his ear.

"Don't be. You deserve to know what happened to them, unfortunately, as much as I wish I knew so that I could tell you, I don't know." Narcissa said as she gave him a kiss on his forehead. "Now, come on, why don't we train before Draco and Lucius awake, and then we can open the presents with them."

"Okay, I just need to finish sending these presents to my friends."

"I'm sure Daphne can wait until later today to open her present." Narcissa said as Y/N smiled.

"I sent Daphnes off already, this is for my school friends, they had to stay at Hogwarts, well one of them, the other chose to stay." Y/N said as Narcissa smiled.

"Who are they?"

"Well the book is for Hermione Granger, a Gryffindor but she's been kind to me since I met her. The sweets are for Ron Weasley-"

"Y/N, you know what Lucius would think." Narcissa said as Y/N shrugged.

"Lucius thinks?" Y/N replied smartly as Narcissa smiled.

"Who is the jumper for?"

"Harry Potter, I spent the train ride to Hogwarts with him-"

"Harry Pot- Harry Potter?" Narcissa gasped before lowering to a whisper.

"Yes."

"You're friends with a Weasley and Harry Potter?" Narcissa whispered as she looked at him.

"Well, yes. They've been good to me." Y/N said as Narcissa thought to herself. "What's so bad about that?"

"Nothing just...be careful around Potter, he's likely a magnet for danger." Narcissa said as Y/N smirked.

"Look who you're talking to." Y/N said as Narcissa looked at him with a look that scared even him.

"You're going to be careful around him, understand?"

"Yes." Y/N said nervously, he hated making his aunt angry, partly because she was terrifying when she was angry, but also because he felt bad after everything she had done for him.

"Repeat it." Narcissa said coldly.

"I'll be careful around Harry Potter." Y/N said as Narcissa nodded.

"Good. Now, send them off and get ready for training, I'll meet you outside, and I hope we never have to have this discussion again." Narcissa said as she left. Y/N sighed to himself before sending the presents off.

As he joined Narcissa at the front door to the manor house, Y/N looked at her.

"Are you ready?"

"Yes Aunt Narcissa." Y/N said as she nodded.

"In your own time, go. Ten laps of the estate each." Cissa said as they set off, Cissa set of at an average pace, making sure to pace herself and not were herself out too quickly, while Y/N set off into a full on sprint. As Narcissa was halfway through her first lap, she heard footsteps approaching before watched him sprint past her.

Cissa continued her jog, finishing her first lap as footsteps approached from behind again, watching Y/N pass her as she continued her gentle jog.

Narcissa was halfway through her second lap of the estate when she heard the footsteps approaching, Y/N ran straight past her. Y/N continued sprinting as fast as he could while Narcissa continued her jog until she finished her ten laps with Y/N having done another 20. She took a moment to catch her breath as she looked at Y/N.

"Come on, lets get an hours training in before breakfast." Narcissa said as she and Y/N walked to the large gym. Narcissa swished her wand and the equipment all moved to one side, giving them an area to train in. "Now take out your wand."

Y/N took his wand out and assumed his preferred duelling stance.

Stupify!

Y/N blocked with Protego before casting Stupify followed by Depulso.

As Narcissa blocked the spell Y/N used the chance to keep the pressure up.

"Flippendo, stupify, incendio, inverte statum, expelliarmus!" Y/N cast the barrage of spells at Narcissa who blocked most of them with ease before using her wand to pull Y/N's shoelace free, she then used Accio on a chair that tripped him up.

As he climbed to his feet, Y/N saw Narcissa approaching.

"You used the chair?" Y/N asked as Narcissa looked at him.

"Do you think that someone trying to kill you won't do the same just because its a "dick move"?" Narcissa said as Y/N shook his head. "No, me neither, and you were blinded by anger to the point that you failed to notice your shoelace and the chair behind me."

"...Sorry." Y/N said as Narcissa looked at him.

"It's okay, you were doing quite well casting that many spells that quickly and efficiently." Narcissa said kindly as she smiled at her Nephew. "Go on and get cleaned up, and we can start opening the presents when Draco and Lucius come down."

Y/N nodded before leaving to go and get a shower before getting dressed and heading downstairs...
