"How did yous do it?" Ron asked, breaking the silence that had encompassed the room. Harry looked at Ron confused. "Never mind. Doesn't matter. Might have let your best friend know, though."
"Let you know what?" Harry said.
"You know bloody well what. You and the Ice bitch."
"Hey! One, don't insult Daphne like that, she's got enough on her plate without friend becoming a bigot towards her, and two, I didn't ask for this to happen, Ron. Okay? You're being stupid." Harry said.
"Yeah, that's me. Ron Weasley, Harry Potter's stupid friend." Ron sulked as Harry sighed.
"I didn't put my name in that cup and I know for certain that Y/N didn't. We don't want eternal glory, Daphne just wants peace and quiet and I just wanna be...Look, I don't know what happened tonight, and I don't know why. It just did. Okay?" Harry said as Ron turned and looked at him.
"Piss off." Ron said as Neville spoke up.
"If you're so confident about Daphne and Harry, why don't you go and repeat what you just called her to her face instead of going behind her back, or are you worried that she's put you back in your place." Neville said as the room was shocked.
"Shut up Neville-"
"No! No I won't. Daphne and Y/N have been nothing but kind to me, they've helped me, kept me safe from bullies, from people like you who talk behind others backs. Y/N and Daphne have had your back even at their own cost, when that troll attacked, who was it who was first on the scene to save Hermione? Y/N. When the world cup was attacked, he went and held off Death Eaters, getting his face cut to protect you. Don't be so ungrateful to Daphne, because I guarantee Ron, if she wasn't here to keep Y/N in check, he'd already be in this room tearing your face off." Neville said as Ron looked at Neville.
"Who asked you-?"
"No one needed to ask, Y/N and Daphne may be Slytherins, but they're my friends, and I won't let you talk bad about them behind their backs." Neville said Ron shook his head and closed the curtains on his bed before going to sleep, sulking.
Y/N and Daphne were sat in the common room of their quarters with Y/N pacing.
"Y/N, sit down and calm down." Daphne said as Y/N shook his head.
"Fucking Triwizard tournament. What good for nothing dipshit thought that bringing it back would be a good idea?" Y/N said as Daphne watched him light another cigarette.
"Y/N stop. We can work through this-"
"Daphne, this tournament is designed to test you to your limits, people have died in this tournament." Y/N said as Daphne paused for a moment and walked up to him and put her hands on his shoulder.
"Y/N. We can work through this together, we're a couple, we're both strong on our own, but together, when we have each other's backs, we can do whatever we want." Daphne said as she looked Y/N in the eyes. "We can only get through this if we do this together, with me working in the spotlight next to Harry, and you...working in the dark."
Y/N looked at Daphne's deep blue eyes, getting himself lost in those swirling oceans of blue, his temper calmed as he looked at her, taking in every minute detail about her face. he wished he could just spend eternity with her, let the moment between them both never end.
"I'm going to get to bed, I have to be ready for Skeeter tomorrow."
"Fuck, she's not going to play fair with you, she hates my family, my biological family, she despised my dad, and my mum...well...yeah." Y/N said as Daphne smiled.
"Don't worry, she won't be able to handle the Ice Queen of Hogwarts." Daphne said as she walked away, kissing Y/N before she went up to her dorm.
The flash of the camera went off in the eyes of the five contestants, with Daphne looking away.
"One more flash and I'm going to hex him into oblivion." Daphne remarked to herself as the cameraman readied another shot, Daphne subtly cast a spell on the camera, the spell knocking the obnoxious cameraman on his arse. Harry looked to Daphne and smirked before speaking, neither listening to Skeeter.
"Are you okay?" Harry asked as Daphne nodded..
"Shame I couldn't set the bloody camera on fire." Daphne whispered as Harry smirked.
"What a charismatic quintet. Hello, I'm Rita Skeeter." The journalist began as she shook hands with the champions.
Harry stormed out of the closet he was getting interviewed in followed by Skeeter who called Daphne in, she walked into the closet with her.
"Now, Daphne Greengrass. Let's talk about why you, a thirteen year old-"
"I'm fourteen." Daphne said as Rita ignored her.
"Why would you a thirteen year old would enter into this very dangerous tournament, perhaps you seek your family's approval, and you think that winning will gain you that approval? Or perhaps you were using your keen senses to follow the smell of romance in the air."
"It's not the smell of romance it's the smell of Chanel No.5. And look, me and Harry didn't put our names in that cup." Daphne said as Rita chuckled to herself before winking.
"Don't worry, every body loves a rebel. Especially a rebellious underdog story. Speaking of your parents, what would your parents feel about you joining this tournament. Proud, or concerned. I mean, your attitude from records at best shows a pathological need for attention and praise and at worst a psychotic death wish." Rita said, not realizing she was treading close to the mark that Daphne would say enough was enough. "Of course, you're close friends with Y/N Wolf, ...a werewolf, some people have described you two as close. What would he say if he thought you were doing this to impress him, young romance-"
Daphne gave a smile at Skeeter for a moment.
Harry was outside trying to calm down when he heard a blood curdling scream, Skeeter came running out of the closet, screaming as she held up her hand which had her quill sticking through it. Daphne stepped out of the closet and had a wicked grin as she approached Harry and began talking to him, he explained what Ron had said, missing out what Weasley had called her, more for his friends health than anything...
