Y/N was sat between Daphne and Hermione.
"I can't believe the nonsense in those books of his." Y/N said as Draco looked at him.
"About wrestling the werewolf?" Daphne asked as Y/N nodded.
"Oh! That one's my favourite out of this years books." Hermione said as Y/N looked at her. "I've read them all already. That's the best though, the story of when he spent a year living with a yeti."
"Or Alternatively, the greatest work of fiction since vows of fidelity were included in the French marriage service." Y/N remarked dryly as he looked at some of the things he read.
"Oh come now, you can't claim that its fake."
"I'm not claiming anything at all yet, I just think that it's a waste us buying these when we already have some proper toilet paper in the bathrooms." Y/N remarked as Hermione's brow furrowed.
"I believe him."
"Hermione, did you take an idiot potion over the holidays or something? in his book on werewolves he claimed to reverse the transformation whilst wrestling the werewolf with one hand and pinning him to the floor. Hagrid is twelve foot tall with arms the size of Bournemouth and he'd struggle with wrestling a werewolf using two hands, anyone who thinks about it would easily tell you that wrestling a werewolf with one hand sounds like the most fantastical load of drivel ever put to paper, and in the wizarding and muggle world that says something. Believe me when I say wrestling a werewolf is tough, I'm a werewolf and I struggled fighting one last year, Lockhart doesn't stand a chance, especially using one hand. What's more, look at the man, when it all kicked off with me and Uncle Lucius, Lockhart was out of there into the back room faster than a whippet with a bum full of dynamite." Y/N said coldly as Hermione looked hurt.
"Well I believe him, he's a great wizard!" Hermione snapped as Y/N rolled his eyes.
"Okay, believe what you want about him, what do I care that my friend won't learn anything useful in Defence Against the Dark Arts." Y/N said as he opened the window and threw his copy of a year with a yeti. "I think I'll rely on the library full of books with facts in them rather than irrelevant twoddle."
Y/N, Daphne, and Hermione were in the great hall wondering where Harry and Ron where, the two boys were lucky enough to miss the welcome speech the Y/N could swear had gotten longer than last year.
When they arrived at the Slytherin common room, Y/N looked around and saw everyone looking at him with glares. Draco walked in and saw the looks.
"What are you all glaring at?!" Draco asked harshly making them all go back to their own business. "Are you okay?"
"Just fuckin' dandy." Y/N said as the door opened to reveal professor Snape.
"Ah, Y/N, Daphne, the headmaster has requested your presence." Snape said as Y/N nodded, he turned and fist bumped with Draco before stepping out into the corridor with Daphne. Y/N lit a cigarette before following professor Snape. "I trust you both had a good holiday?"
Y/N glanced at Daphne and shared a smiled with her.
"You could say that." Daphne said as she smirked at Y/N.
They arrived at the Headmasters office, Snape looked at the statue.
"Sherbet Lemon." Snape said bluntly as the statue began to rotate and rise, forming a staircase as it went. Y/N, Daphne and Professor Snape stepped on a stair and waited until the statue had stopped rising before taking the last few steps up into the small lobby outside of the office. Y/N went to knock on the door but it opened to reveal Dumbledore sat at his desk with Professor McGonagall who had a saddened look on her face.
"Professor Dumbledore, Professor McGonagall. Is there something I can help you with?" Y/N asked as Dumbledore nodded glumly.
"Yes, Y/N, I'm afraid so. But normally a student is only head boy or head girl for one year before leaving. Obviously you're not leaving the school anytime soon, so..."
"You want the badge." Y/N said as Dumbledore nodded sadly.
"I'm afraid so Mr Malfoy. I take no pleasure in this. We have been given assurance that Professor Lockhart will be capable of doing your job-"
"Sir, you know I respect you, and I'm grateful for everything you've done for me...but you would entrust this schools safety to that lying git? You honestly think Harry's safer with Gilderoy Cockhart patrolling the corridors than someone who has done this job before? I understand I only have a years experience, but that's more than he has." Y/N said as Dumbledore shook his head.
"I don't, the ministry do."
"And when exactly did you care about what the ministry thought. You could take a dump on The ministers mums best china and he'd thank you for it." Y/N said as Snape smirked at the analogy.
"I'd ask that you settle down Mr Malfoy." Dumbledore said.
"Apologies headmaster." Y/N said as he looked at Dumbledore.
"Professor Lockhart will be in the head boys quarters for the year I'm afraid." Dumbledore said as Y/N sighed.
"I don't believe this." Daphne said as she stepped forward. "Y/N risked his life last year to protect this school from Voldemort, and what does he get in return, binned off from his job the next year and replaced by a babbling, bumbling baboon."
"Daphne. It's not worth it." Y/N said as he went to leave.
"No, it is Y/N. My little sisters in this school now, I know I'd feel like she was safe if it was Y/N looking after us all instead of some yellow bellied coward!" Daphne said as she looked Dumbledore in the eyes. "After everything he went through last year to help protect the stone that shouldn't have been here to begin with, shame on you Albus Dumbledore, and none of you stepped up to his defence? Shame on you all."
Daphne stormed out, taking Y/N by the sleeve of his shirt and dragging him out in a fit of anger, passing Lockhart on the way out.
"Hello aga-"
"Sod off!" Daphne snapped as she led Y/N away.
Lockhart walked into the office and saw them.
"I say, how rude." Lockhart said as Snape and McGonagall glared at him before McGonagall turned to Dumbledore.
"Well...that went well." McGonagall said sarcastically...
