I was beyond cold and honestly unsure how much longer I could even stay conscious my whole body shivering and shaking unable to move any part of me even unable to continue to move my legs any longer I held y/n close as she had stopped swimming too by now but I held her close hoping to keep our body heat between us for however much longer it was going to be, but as I stared at the endless black void in all directions, the utter silence surrounding us as people silenced having succumbed to the water or just the cold, I hadn't seen a single light since the ship went down, and it was only getting colder as the night went on, even if I was begging for light, be it from a ship, a person, or even the sun just anything to break up this endless darkness. "P-please...Please..."
"Hello!" a voice rang out making me perk up even if I was so cold and tied I could barely move I looked and saw a low light getting closer "There anyone alive out there!" they shouted across the water
I tried to speak but my lips where so cold they were almost frozen together, I tried desperately to force my lips open but when I did my voice just couldn't be forced out, but soon I saw the small lifeboat with a lantern on the edge slowly moving though the watery field of frozen bodies, they moved though shouting over and over trying to find anyone who was still alive, I couldn't speak or make any form of sound no matter how hard I tried, I used every bit of my strength to move my hand off the debris moving my hand as much as possible to make noise splashing the water
"Over here!" they shouted moving the lifeboat until it was close enough to us "You're still alive?" he asks leaning over to see us better I managed to nod "Okay, come on let her go"
"w-what n-no- No I- I can't let her go" I shivered
"We can't cart a corpse, you have to let her go we can't use the room or the weight on the boat"
"No! Please! I can't leave her please-" I begged tears welling up in my eyes "Please you don't understand - I- I can't leave her"
"If you don't let het go you'll die"
"Noo! please!" I begged "she's the best thing that's ever happened to me I can't leave her"
he sighed and continued on the lifeboat passing me to search for other survivors I just held her close my forehead on hers unable to stop my tears "I won't leave you- I promise I won't leave you" I whispered feeling her ice cold skin holding her close as tight as possible "I love you so much, I can't let you go" I whispered giving her a little kiss but as I kissed her I felt her breathe a small weak breath, I checked her neck and felt though her ice cold skin the slight weak bump of her pulse "she- she's alive." I muttered "she's alive!" I yelled as loud as I possibly could "She's alive!" I yelled using all of my strength to wrap her arms around my shoulders using what little strength I had to swim over to the boat "she's alive, we're both alive" I told them grabbing onto the boat they checked her pulse
"Christ she is alive, get her in, get her warm!" He says pulling her into the life boat wrapping her up with a blanket and they quickly helped me up into the boat too wrapping me with a blanket, I happily sat beside her holding her tightly trying to warm us both up
