In a nest I lay
Through the night and day
Growing slowly and preparing for flight
The future looks so bright
But as the day nears
My little wings tremble in fear
For the day I am on my own
I fear the thought of being alone
Away from the comfort of my nest
The one I lay in comfortably to rest
Soon it will be time for me to fly
As my wings will stretch out towards the sky
I will be pushed from my nest
Expected to do my best
And only time will tell the rest
I will flap my wings as hard as they can go
As I start my journey to a place I don't know
With my heart in tow
A heart that longs for more time
For me to get my future in line
But time is something I no longer hold
Not sure what the future could behold
But I will flap my wings further as it slowly unfolds
I will fly like a bird migrating from the cold
To a beginning yet to be told
